Award-winning Filipino TV anime series "Barangay 143" is coming to Netflix PH on October 1

Barangay 143, the 2018 Filipino animated series, a co-production and collaboration between Philippine's Synergy88, Japan's TV Asahi, Singapore's August Media Holdings, and ASI Animation Studios, is coming to Netflix PH on October 1, 2020.

This year on January 11, the series was awarded Best 2D Animated Programme at the 24th Asian Television Awards.

Taking over two years from conceptualization to production, the first Filipino anime series was designed and produced here in Manila with the help crew from across Japan, South Korea, USA, Malaysia, and Singapore. The series was aired on GMA Network last October 2018 featuring the voices of Julie Anne San Jose, Migo Adecer, Kelley Day, and Ruru Madrid. The series was later replayed on 2019. It also features original music from whole host of celebrity Filipino singers and musicians.

Barangay 143 follows the coming of age story of a young man in search of a father and how he finds an unlikely family in a team of misfits trying to bring glory to their hometown. It's a story about love and family set against the action-packed world of street basketball, where the stakes are always high and life is the biggest game you can win.
