"FREEDOM" "Freedom, from the godly point of view, is to be free from evil, free from darkness, free from the lie, and free to exist in a world of righteousness, truth and light. Freedom never means (from a Biblical, godly point of view) to be free from authority; that is a fallen idea. The notion that man is a sovereign individual is straight out of the pit. The Bible denies it. Man is not sovereign; God is sovereign. God is the Creator; man is the creature. Freedom does not mean autonomy. Free man cannot be independent from God’s law. To be out of harmony with God’s moral law is to be in bondage and darkness. To be out of harmony with God’s spiritual law is to abide in death. To be out of harmony with social law as God has established it in the human community is to be at odds with one’s fellows. To be out of harmony with judicial law is to be the enemy of justice. Never may a man, in the quest of freedom and rightness from the godly point of view, be free from authority or responsibility.
This Biblical truth does not square with the humanist and his worldly way of thinking. There is an utter contrast between worldly ways and God’s way. God acknowledged this when he said, In Isaiah 55:8-9: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Man’s ways are the wrong ways and God’s ways are the right ways."
