Fraudsters have come up with new schemes for taking away cryptocurrency, what should I do? 😡

Participation in testing the project, sending cryptocurrency and connecting the wallet. Oddly enough, but now these are also ways of fraud.

▪️ File with viruses. You download and run a file with a virus that finds saved passwords from a crypto wallet on your PC and transfers them to scammers.

Previously, for such a deception, it was suggested to install a fake update of a crypto wallet or other software. Now the scammers have gone further and, through Discord or Telegram, invite them to take part in testing a new crypto product and receive tokens for it. And those who agreed are sent a file of about 800 MB and asked to run it.

How to protect yourself: Do not download or run files from questionable sources. Trying to earn some tokens by testing can cost you all the cryptocurrency in general.

▪️ Wallet connection. You log in to a fraudulent crypto site by signing a zero transaction in MetaMask. The wallet shows a warning, but you successfully ignore it and click confirm.

In this way, fraudsters read your signature, after which they can create any operation and ask you to confirm it. If you are inattentive, transfer your cryptocurrency to them.

How to protect yourself: only authenticate on trusted sites and do not ignore warnings from the wallet. You can also reduce the risks if you bring a second wallet with a minimum of funds, with which you will connect to unknown sites.

▪️ Spam from a similar crypto address. The scammer finds a victim with a similar address and starts spamming them with transfers containing a small amount of cryptocurrency, such as 0.01 USDT.

The victim does not pay attention to such transfers, and when he makes a transaction, he may mistakenly copy the scammer's wallet from the list of old transactions to the recipient's line. The error is only 1-2 decimal places, but your coins are gone forever.

How to protect yourself: carefully check the recipient's address before each sending cryptocurrency.

Share this post with a crypto friend so that scammers don't get it 😉
