Some people have been seen to prove their point by quoting this verse of the Holy Qur'an and saying that Hazrat Ibrahim (as) also belonged to our religion (Al-Ayyaz by Allah Almighty) while the background of this verse is as follows That is

وَ اِِنَّ مِنْ شِيْعَتِهٖ لَاِبْرٰهِیۘمَۘ ۸۳ And verily, Abraham (Abraham) was of those (Noah's) people.

Interpretation: {وَ اِِنَّ مِنْ شِيْعَتِهٖ: And indeed from his group.} Here is the story of Hazrat Ibrahim (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). The meaning of this verse is that Hazrat Ibrahim (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is following the religion and nation of Hazrat Noah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his way of life.

There is a difference of more than two thousand years between Hazrat Noah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and Hazrat Ibraaheem (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Before Salawat and Salaam, three prophets, Hazrat Idris, Hazrat Shayth and Hazrat Adam (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) visited, thus Hazrat Ibraaheem (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is the seventh Prophet.
