The Faisal Mosque faisal masjid is a mosque in Islamabad, Pakistan and is the national mosque of Pakistan.[n 1] Upon completion it was the largest mosque in the world and is currently the fifth largest mosque in the world and the largest in South Asia. It is located on the foothills of Margalla Hills in Islamabad. The mosque features a contemporary design consisting of eight sides of concrete shell and is inspired by a Bedouin tent.[1]
