Purpose of levelling.
- To establish new vertical control (Benchmark or Temporary Benchmark).
- To determine the height of discrete points.
- To provide spot heights or contours.
- To provide data for road cross sections of volumes of earthworks.
- To provide a level a incline plane in the setting out of cross section works.
