The BCB has hired former New Zealand batsman Craig Macmillan as a batting consultant for the three-match Test series against Sri Lanka. But Macmillan had to quit his job before taking charge. The Kiwi coach is unable to travel to Sri Lanka due to his father's death. The BCB confirmed the matter in a press release.

BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury expressed his condolences to Macmillan's family. "Craig has contacted us," he said in a statement. His father died recently. During this grief of the family, it is not possible for him to work as the batting consultant of the Bangladesh team in the Sri Lanka series. We understand his condition. We extend our deepest condolences to Craig and his family.
