Topic: Faith is Text: Heb 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (ESV)

Introduction Two words are of importance here: • Assurance – when one is sure of something, it is a deep seated belief, and this is usually something you may not be able to explain. • Conviction- when you are convinced of something even if it does not happen in a month, a year, you believe it will definitely happen

Faith is the assurance and conviction of things not seen!

Christian faith is basically faith in God. Believing that God is who He says He is and trusting him in all that He does. Believing everything that He has said in his word.

To be absolutely sure of whatever God says or does. Believing Him even when the evidence is contrary. Because it is coming from God, you can be assured that the power of God will back it up.

Therefore because we believe Him, His Word becomes law to us. We will not take His words with levity. We are convinced that whatever He says is the truth regardless of whether we see it or not.

Faith can also be described as a force, the force needed to get things done. The force with which God accomplishes the impossible in the life of man on earth.

Our text started by saying that “Now Faith is”, meaning that faith as a force is a “now force”. Faith is not something that you can expect to happen tomorrow or next year, faith is now. The salvation of your soul can happen now, the bible says “….now is the accepted, now is the day of salvation” (2 Cor. 6: 2), your healing can happen now, your financial breakthrough can happen now.

It is not up to God, it is up to you. Do you believe?

Prayer points

  1. Ask for forgiveness for not believing and trusting God for who He is
  2. Ask the Lord to help you remove every doubt in mind standing against your faith in God
  3. Ask that the power of God will destroy that demon of unbelief in your life in Jesus name
  4. Ask for the grace to walk in faith in every situation of life
  5. Present that need to God now, ask in faith, refuse to doubt and expect the answer
