Did you know that you can erase all data as well as ring, lock and locate the device remotely? All you need is to create an account for the Android Device Manager, as this tool acts as a virtual phone. But there are certain requirements that you must fulfil to successfully perform actions remotely.

Requirements:

  • Give permission to the Android device manager to remotely locate, lock, and erase. To do so follow the steps below:

    • Go to the settings menu and tap on "Personal". From there tap on "Google".

    • After that, click on "security".

    • From there, under the heading of Android Device Manager, activate the feature of “Remotely locate this device” and “Allow remote lock and erase”.

  • Turn the location on. To do so follow the steps below:

    • Enter the Settings menu and tap on "Personal" and consequently click on "Location".

    • Now simply tap on the On/Off switch at the top. Make sure to switch it to On to enable your Android phone’s location service.

  • Have an Android OS version of 2.2 or above

Step by Step Guide to Remotely Erase Data From Android Device.

  • Visit the official website: - Sign in - Google Accounts

  • Sign in with your Google Account.

  • As soon as you log in, find or select your Android phone that has been stolen or lost. Note that if an earlier time you had not synced your Android phone at Android Device Manger's website, then you will not be able to find it.

  • After selecting your Android phone. The website will show the accurate location along with the menu at the top left corner that shows location details, last time of detection, and distance from your location.

  • After finding the exact location, you can proceed with erasing your data. Just click on “Wipe your Android remotely”. A confirmation window will pop up; click on “Agree". And done, all your data from the Android device will be erased.

Bonus point: there are third-party apps that also assist in erasing data of an Android device remotely. XNSPY is one of the best examples.
