Mexico Drug Violence Transferred In Football Fields

Shocking images reached the news, and especially the gruesome videos posted by Twitter users some five days ago, from the hooliganism acts of organized supporters between Mexico football clubs Queretaro and Atlas.

This soccer match was abruptly put to stop after hooligans from the home team Queretaro invaded the stands where the away fans were located and started beating them with sticks and knives.

I do not link the videos I watched because the violence and images are gruesome and not related to civilized society, but not even relate to fighting between club supporters and hooligans that we may often watch on our screens.

This is a warzone and between these hooligans there were murderers.

This is not Mexico but the part of what Mexico has become after so many decades of corruption and rule of politics by the drug cartels.

Politicians are kidnapped and executed when confronting the cartels, even students are murdered, and the cartels don't stop anywhere.

I talked with a friend from Mexico and he told me, these hooligans were drug gangs and probably working to make this mess in and out of a legendary Mexican stadium used for World Cup games.

Hooligan violence is a stain in the field of athletic events, but sometimes there is more than just blind fanatisism, there are some following an agenda.

In Mexico, the truth is hidden from the public. The local news claimed in these hooligan riots 17 people lost their lives, and from what I have seen, some probably lost their lives for a football match. Maybe they did not know this could happen, maybe fans just feel there is no way someone will stab them with a knife or beat them to death with sticks, but it has happened.

There is a lot of craziness lately, after two years of lockdowns too, and perhaps the world has lost its senses.

Crime, murders, and violence is errupting, all around the world, especially in those places where covid restrictions were strict.

Stay safe and consider again before doing anything stupid, respect everyone and help the tensions relax instead of making other people angry. The Covid reaction was pretty dumb if you ask me and only created all this kind of problems we have today.

Mexico is co-hosting (with the USA and Canada) the 2026 Fifa World Cup. Don't think I will be visiting Mexico, maybe only Canada.

Depending on the cartel region someone visits, it may be a safe place for that time, but everything changes. As cartel agreements break often, then violence errupts and anyone in the way of the ruthless gang cartels is an enemy.

I especially feel for the innocents that got caught in the decades of violence and especially the journalists that are scared for their lives if they write news on the cartels violence as many have been assasinated by the cartel executioners.

I agree, it all got worse lately. Some have clearly lost their senses.
