Holy Week Is Over: Back To Reality

Sigh. It's Monday again.

I've been thinking about how much I don't want to go back to school, work or anything that has something to do with the real world, but then again, this break is over and it's time to get back to reality.

No more sleeping in for a week, no more lazing around the house, no more eating whatever we want when we want it. And this means, we're going back to school, meet our deadlines for activities, and get prepared for the upcoming quizzes. It's time to do what we need to do.

It’s the first day of the week and it’s usually the hardest to get over. The weekend just passed, leaving us all wanting for more rest and relaxation time, but then again, Monday means another chance to make a difference—whether that's in your career or in your family life. It means another chance to do things better than you did before.

Things are about to get hectic. You know how it is—once Holy Week is over, the world just seems like it's moving at 500 miles per hour again. And with life so busy and chaotic, it's easy to feel like our emotions are on edge all the time, too. It happens to me all the time! I get so caught up in everything going on that I can't even remember what it feels like to relax.

But before you rush off into the busyness of your day-to-day life, take a moment and reflect on what you did this week. It was Holy Week after all—a time for rest and recuperation, for planting seeds of good fortune, and for spending time with family.

So did you spend your break wisely? Did you mark it with anything meaningful? Did you make sure your family was well? Did you treat them right? Did you share food with them? Did they share their stories with you?

These are important questions we need to ask ourselves every now and then, because these are all important things that add meaning to our lives. Holy Week is a perfect time to ponder these things, and I hope everyone got something out of this break.

Oh, Holy Week! Wasn't it amazing? The solemnity, the beauty, the feeling of being one with God and your loved ones. Wasn't it amazing, how you were able to get away from all the petty things that usually bother you?

For many of us, this week has meant a break from the hustle-and-bustle of daily life: no classes, no work, no need to rush from place to place. Instead, we've had time to reflect on the sacrifices others have made for us and the ways in which we can show that gratitude.

But now that it's over, what does that mean for our commitment to selflessness? How can we keep carrying out Jesus’s teachings even as life returns to normal?

Now, we're back to reality. Monday is upon us, and we should never forget all the things we've learned from our Holy Week experience. If anything, we should use them now more than ever. We can also bring the spirit of Holy Week into our everyday lives by being more mindful of our actions and words.

Let your heart lead you in every decision you make. Remember that we are all God's children and we are called to love one another as He loves us.

So let's start the week off right: by doing our best in everything we do, as if we were doing it for God himself! May we all continue to walk with Christ and live our lives according to His will!
