Celebrating My Family: Those Who Lifted Me Up When I’m Feeling Down

Happy Easter, everyone! It's a beautiful day to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It's also the perfect opportunity to reflect on the things that matter most in life. To me, what matters most is family. I was so lucky to grow up in a home where there was always love and laughter. My parents created an environment where everyone was welcome, especially when we were at our lowest points.

I think we often forget how much more there is to life than work, work, and work. We get caught up in getting ahead, being successful, and making lots of money. But what if we've had it wrong all along? What if success isn't measured in dollars or promotions but in love and family?

Family what makes life worth living—they're what keeps me going when times get tough. As I grew older, I realized that it wasn't just my family's genetics that made them so loving—it was the choices they made each day to be kind, forgiving, and generous. They've always been there for me, and I know they always will be. I really couldn't imagine life without them. What would I do if something happened to them? Life would never be the same again.

Family is the reason I'm here today. It's my parents who protected me from all dangers and gave me the tools I need to succeed. It's my friends who encouraged me even when I felt lost. It's my dog who makes sure that no matter how bad things get, there will always be a furry face to make it all better.

Easter reminds us of the importance of love and sacrifice above all else. It reminds us that togetherness is what matters most—that life is too short to focus on anything but love. Let's be honest, we're not always great to each other, but families are incredible when they come together. In tough times, family is there for you, providing support and love. And in good times, family is there for you too—celebrating your life's accomplishments and milestones.

Jesus was crucified on Good Friday for our sins, and He rose again on Easter Sunday—the day we celebrate His resurrection. That means He died to save us from our sins so that we could have eternal life with Him in heaven. However, this isn't just about the resurrection itself; it's about everything that comes with it: the grace of God, eternal life, justification by faith—all wrapped up in the gift of salvation.

What does that mean for us? How should we approach life with this perspective? How do we bring God's grace and love into our everyday lives? It's not always easy to answer these questions, but as you work through this devotional series, you'll get to know God better, find His love more deeply within yourself and others, and discover just how amazing your life can be when you're seeking Jesus.

Even though we may feel defeated, stressed out, or hopeless at times, remember that you can never be held down by anything for long—you are made of stronger stuff than that. Easter is a great opportunity to get together with the people who lift you up and make your life worth living. For us, it's an opportunity to come together as a family, eat our weight in chocolate, and eggs.

So this Easter, when you're feeling inspired by the resurrection of Christ, think about who has helped you rise again after tough times in your own life. The people who lift you up and make your life worth living? They're your family. When you're able to recognize those people and thank them for what they've done for you, I guarantee your heart will be full!

Aside from the gift of life, family is also one of the greatest gifts God has given us. And I'm not just talking about my parents, siblings or relatives. I also consider my friends and those who are there for me, including my followers, readers, and commenters (like you) as my family. I can't imagine life without everybody because you(they) are the source of my strength, inspiration, and happiness. They push me to be better each day.
