Tell me you have never for once envisioned or thought of the Birds whenever the word Freedom is mentioned.
If you say no you haven't then I may have to rethink and ponder on it.
Could it be that I am the only one that feels or think that way? But if I am the only one that thinks that way, what happens to the phrase we often hear; as free as a bird?.
We know majority has come to accept that the only animal that seems free or has tasted a great part of freedom is the birds.
Though we might for some reason don't wanna agree with me but that's exactly what it is and could ever be.
We feel because the birds are flying up there and looking free without any forces hindering their moment that that is really what Freedom is or feels like.
That some of us even wish we had wings to stretch out and fly. But do we really think that freedom is about flying? Or about not being hindered by anything? Perhaps an opposing force?
And if I wanna get all educational and civil we know the kinds of freedom we have, such as freedom of speech, freedom of movement, freedom to vote and be voted for, freedom to marry, and start a family.
There are many types of freedoms and having looked at these few I mentioned.
You might be tempted to agree with me that there is a part of freedom I mentioned there which includes what the birds do?
And that is freedom of movement
Perhaps why we think the birds have more freedom than we do is because they are free to move to anywhere they wish to move to.
But we as humans are constraint to particular confinement or place.
And so because of this, we think we are not experiencing the kind of freedom we want or desire.
What Does Freedom Mean To Me?
Well, to me freedom means so many things. Beyond the ability to move or go anywhere it pleases me without being stopped or hindered, I see freedom as a form of power and authority.
A man who has tasted freedom has tasted power and authority. Such that he can do anything at any given time without anyone stopping him.
So in order words, Freedom to me means Power
For growing adults, when we are given freedom, it means we are given power. We can do and undo. We make our own choices and decide what to do and what not to do. This is what freedom is, this is what power feels like.
Those in the authorities feel the same way because they have the power to do whatever it is that so pleases them, to them also this is what freedom is, it is power and authority.
Freedom is right. A person who knows his or her rights as a human being, as a citizen, and even as an heir is free.
You can only be a slave to what you don't know. When you are ignorant about a particular thing, you become a slave to it.
Some people aren't aware of their rights, as such, they become slaves to themselves, and the people around them, and even to society at large.
When you know your rights then freedom becomes yours as well.
Freedom can mean anything to anyone. It can be associated with anything and described based on individual perspectives and views on the subject matter.
And if you are also given the opportunity to tell others what freedom means to you, what would it be? Kindly share your points and views on this matter with us as well.
