From Mirriam-Webster Dictionary's definition

Smuggle(v)

: to move (someone or something) from one country into another illegally and secretly

: to take or bring (something) secretly

With Covid-19 penetrating nearby provinces and trying to enter our teritory makes residents alarmed yet alert. Many doesn't believe in this pandemic anymore due to its unrealistic results. A little cough or colds makes one have a positive result in a swab test whilst others were asymptomatic but still yields a positive result. A 2nd or 3rd test while being quarantined reveals a negative one.

People were left not to believe it any longer but for me, an asymptomatic person is a healthy person with strong immune system which was able to fight off the virus without showing any signs and symptoms. While those who were symptomatic were those that have weaker immune system

. We have read, watched and heard everything about the virus while it was still rampaging China and other parts of the world.

Whatever it is we should not be underestimating the virus, because our village was not yet infected with it except for those coming from densely infected places and being quarantined immediately that it seems its a joke joke already.

Some were saying that, is it because for how many months that our place or our municipality was safe from the virus that the government is making a way also to be able to get funds? So and so rumors were coming out which is one reason why residents doesn't believe in it any longer.

We are currently on lockdown due to the case of a mother smuggling her positive-swab tested child on a quarantine facility where they were residing and coming home.

Reports said that the mother and her two daughters have taken commuting vans to reach our place.

The child had a congenital heart disease which is what made us think that was the reason why she can't let her child be isolated on a strange place. Prior to the act of smuggling, the child was scheduled to be transferred to a more advance hospital in the city. It is to treat whatever risk of complications she might be having considering the fact that the li'l girl has a heart failure.

Upon learning about it, villagers had different reactions towards the act of the mother.. She didn't only risk the whole village, yes she became greedy just to protect her child but she didn't consider the possibility. Instead of allowing her child get the right treatment, she denied it. Nevertheless, we were only left to sympathize with them.

Reports used the term "smuggled/smuggling" which makes the mother like a criminal.

Upon further investigation, the mother and children didn't take commuting vans but their own car. They were able to persuade medical practitioners at the facility that they go to the city where the child is supposedly to be transferred. But instead of doing so, they did otherwise by bringing their family home.

In fact the child can have company while on isolation.

The day after the report was published, they were all picked up by an ambulance to town.

Last month, a cousin of mine who is living at the city of pines with his family acquired the virus together with his colleagues. One unfortunately died while they were symptomatic. Good thing, his family members were all well, all tests yielding negative. This was the reason why we should not take it into granted.. We have seen, heard and learned what and how the virus has killed people. We need not to wait for patients having the worst symptoms and dying in our vicinity before being responsible.

Hopefully that was the 1st and last case of smuggling patient/s from quarantine facilities (and adult patients running away).

Let's all stay safe..
