Not All Days are Fine and Bright

A young girl of 15 was cleaning off the pile of buko (young coconut) husks at the back of an elf truck parked just at the road side in town. The scorching heat of the sun caused heat inside the elf which was only covered with tolda to serve as tent . The girl's shirt was drenched in sweat and dripping from her forehead. She was not yet done with her cleaning when another customer came after one another to buy her buko. She needs to husked the young coconuts, poke a hole and insert a drinking straw into it, put in a plastic bag, then hands it to the customer.

She was tired and keeps sweating which she wiped with a clean towel hanged on her nape. Whiiw, her hands begun be form blisters from husking. She begun to clean again the husks into a sack when customers are not available. She went to the front seat to change her sweat-drenched shirts.

She continued to drink her buko juice which she just laid aside when buyers kept coming. Suddenly, a man in uniform appeared from nowhere and asked her to get the truck out of the road. Yaay, that was unexpected. She has no one to look for her paninda. Cellphones were already available those times but she has no eload to make a call to her parents. Thus, she needed to close the tolda and bring with her her collection while she ran towards their house some 400 meters away.

The father at the backgroound working at his working table. Mother and a finished dining set at the foreground

Her father is a carpenter, making furnitures all day. She is the third among 6 siblings. Their older sister is a college student and has classes even during vocations. Her 2 male siblings were helping their father at the shop while the 2 youngest were freely playing. Their mother tended the house and sometimes helped with some of the furniture painting.

She and her father brought the truck outside the town hospital and sometimes at their parking space outside college whenever a man in uniform would come and shoo shoo them off the main highway. Those were their route in selling. Other products included mangoes and eggs.

That old elf truck which serves them for years, ferrying those products and goods

Their shop is feeding them well and maybe preparing the kids education on their third level education.

Sometimes she complained because she seems to be an all around-the-house girl and doing most of the selling. Because she's a teenager she felt shy sometimes because most customers are travelers and they would joke with her. But whenever one of the family is available, then she would be accompanied. Husking coconuts is not an easy task.

She loves selling those bukos and manggoes and eggs but she hated it when her classmates passed by her drenched in sweat. Well they seem to bully her but this girl was a fighter who would stare death to those nicely dressed girls who made bully of her and hit those standing hairs of emo boys with husks of coconut.

It's a fulfilling feeling when she was able to gain at least 2000php or more at the end of the day. Their were those times that even at 8pm, customers were still coming. She would be too exhausted. But one of the family would come accompany her which is most of the time their father who would drive the elf home.

In some instances, she or they were not able to sell an amount of 1000php. That was the time their parents told them that not all days are fine and bright. Like the weather, it becomes gloomy, rainy and sometimes stormy. Just like the furniture shop itself, their were times that their were little orders coming in a month. Due to that they need to look for other sources of income. Their were also times that if they can only extend the day to be able to finish all orders then they would. They taught savings to their kids especially during the fine weathers or those days that they would be earning much more than their needs. To avail wants is not bad because it is some sort of self reward. However, it should not be always wants and wants because it will put your hard earned money to nothing.

At times when orders are little, they would go around town to buy and collect junks and scraps of any kind. When it's enough load for the elf truck then they bring it to the lowlands to sell when prices are good. The return products that they get from the lowlands were the bukos, mangoes and eggs.

That's also not putting all eggs in one basket. I may be a noob when it comes to cryptos but I highly appreciate those who are investing in some other cryptos to make their money work for them. Aside from relying mainly on read.cash for earnings, they do spot trading or whatever it is called on other crypto. Nevertherless, they still do what they love to do though their articles seems not to catch the bot's attention yet they go on writing beautiful, sensible contents
