I have republished the 1st part A Glimpse of my Hometown
Let me take you once more to this wonderful place of fresh pinewoods scent, cold breeze of the mountain ranges and clear, cool potable waters. The mountains are a diversion of flora and fauna.Wild boars, deers and cats roam.Coming home from the cities, you will find urban life toxins blown away by the winds of home, washed out by the cool cool waters of the streams, creeks and falls. And this I proudly say,my side of the mountain..
Liyang,a small lagoon. Situated on a remote area in the woods where it usually take us almost an hour hike from our main village. Small fishes we call gadiw are aplenty that's why like the it's also a good getaway from days labour.
From Liyang, one can also go to Mangngid, situated in the forest. It used to be the shelter for some families of Talubin who sought for an evacuation ground during World War ll.Though it is far from civilization, primary education was still provided.Still inhabited until early 20's when it was abondoned completely due to its location and the children sought out higher education and a greener pasture.Like other remote areas rich in nature,it fed its people sufficiently.
When going through Bontoc-Banaue road, you will pass by this falls.Same as the Humuyyu falls,it's water originated from Siniblawan Talaw (from 1st part)
Kattub, termed Marlboro hills of Talubin.A pasture land for cows, where mustangs or wild horses can be found if you're lucky to spot one.A perfect site for mushroom hunting, you'll find the best edible kind around its vicinities.
Inkekeng falls. If you're adventurous enough, take your walking stick and prepare for a good trek..Old folks said there's this spot where a drop just a drop of water resembles the sound of a dropped metal make(keng, keng),thus Inkekeng it is called.Tiny water drops one at a time just like how rain water drops at your umbrella tip.But trekkers were unable to locate it,maybe gone.
I must say,we are blessed with God's beautiful creations and culture rich people who stand to protect it. We must for the next generations to enjoy it too.
You may have gone to and explore other places but you'll find the best place is the one you call home.

All the same, photos used are from fb users..
