What do you think makes one to do things in order to achieve a goal? How important is it to have this force?

this is a repost.

Here in this platform we read about quotes; quotes to learn from, inspirational quotes, motivational quotes and others.

However, motivation was one of what I thought would make a good topic.

Motivation itself is the driving force of oneself. It arouse one to promote action towards a desired goal. It is a generalize term which was somehow used interchangeably with that of motive.

Motive, on the otherhand is a specific term which is an agent of motivation. It is a goal,a want, an aim, an ambition, an interest or desire that turns to be a motivation.

Motivation is not an emotion, you might ask. However,we feel high in spirit or down casted but these are the feelings that emerged from the motive or from the action caused by a motive. Yet these feelings should not hold us back but to make it another motivation for us to grow.

To be motivated or have a motivation is something we must possess because it is essential in achieving our motives. But before achieving a goal, motivation provides one with a goal to work towards, helps solve problems, helps one to change old habits which is making him stagnant or not progressing at all, and it hepls in coping with challenges and opportunities thats why it is so important to be motivated. .

There are two type of motivation, the extrinsic and intrinsic motivation.

Extrinsic motivation-from the prefix "ex" which means out of,you will know that this drive comes outside of ones body which stimulates one to do a certain action. To have high points here in readcash, for example is an extrinsic motivation which drive one user to produce or make quality content articles, and to engage in the comment box with relevant and substantial reactions or comments.( this was still during the point system).

As of today an example of extrinsic motivation is to keep writing quality contents though @TheRandomRewarder is nowhere from your articles. It is a motivation to be able to reach a certain goal -make 1BCH or more before this year ends.

In addition to these, incentives is a motive which is one among extrinsic motives which was categorized into two:the motivation by positive incentives; and the motivation by negative incentives. A motivation by positive incentives are rewards which give a feeling of pleasure and satisfaction. On the contrary, motivation by negative incentives are punishments which gives a feeling of pain, displeasure, and dissatisfaction to oneself.

Some motives that serve as motivations are as follows;bonuses, allowances, promotion and demotion, merits and distinction certificates, appreciation certificates and prizes. .

Intrinsic motivation. If extrinsic comes out of ones body, this type was a motivation that comes from within oneself that includes biological driving force such as hunger, call of nature, and others.Ones curiosity, internal fears, psychological needs which includes the desire to acquire knowledge, and desires are also a form of intrinsic motivations..

I have heard of a runner on a track and field event or something like that..The game was going smoothly when misfortune befell this athlete. He sprained his foot accidentally and can no longer run. Of course everyone's goal is to reach the finish line, so nobody wasted his time to stop to even ask how he is.His coach however, told him to get out of the track because it's pointless to keep going.

Yet, this young man did not heed the call of his coach.. With much pain and effort, left alone on the field to continue, he finally reached the finish line. When asked why did he had to do it. He simply answered, "I'm not here for the race itself but to finish the race for my country. "

Well, thats the motive that turned out to be his motivation for him to finish the race..

We all feel demotivated sometimes but don't worry it's a normal feeling. And as a person with a strong will power to continue. It says motivation still comes from negative incentives so an optismistic person motivates himself and get back on track.
