Hello read.cash friends, how are you? I pray that you are in the best of health and in God's merciful hands.
After Odette, which gave us two days and a night of rain, we haven't had rain yet until tonight. The time as of this writing is 21:50 and th rain has just started yet and I'm very thankful to God that He already answered our prayer.
The rain pranked us last night, making us very excited by making our roof make noise by just rainshowers that didn't even last five minutes.
But I patiently waited for it, thinking God has the perfect timing in everything.
In the 20th day of December, we planted cassava in the land that my father in law is being a tenant. He got discouraged by the crops that he was planting : spending much but earning less so just after he received the money from selling his corn, he went home to his birth place, Maranding, Lanao del Norte to visit his siblings and u wind in all the stress of life.
I even remember him talking to me sincerely, asking ne to guide his son because he thinks Tonton doesn't know anything in farming. When Tonton and his brother was still very young, he trained them in boxing and letting them play in amateur boxings every time there are fiestas in town. He trained them so hard even if it means that his sons will spend less time foe them that's why.
His friend whom I did not catch the name was tye one preparing the land for planting using his catlle and a traditional an item called "daro", a traditional way of Filipinos to plant.
We were given cassava stems fron the farm which has just harvested and paid some one to chop it and put it inside a sack, P60 pesos per sack and 60 sack. My husband over estimated it. There were 14 sacks of planting materials not being used until now.
Most of the manpower innthe planting is my husband's nephew and nieces, all they have to do is cover the cassava stem with soil. A man was putting them in the row and all he has to do is put it in place because it is heavy.
Here, Nanay is supervising them what to do. And some of the kids were waiting to have a row with stems on.
It took them two days to finish planting and tgey all had fun every afternoon because they have lots of money. My husband even saw them treating themselves ice-cream in 7 eleven, very nice.
Doing the math, it took 7 days of waiting before the rain arrived tonight and it is raining slowly. Slow rain is better because the water can penetrate in the soil much better.
I was thinking, maybe those stems are having roots already, being challenged by the weather, the day is hot but the dawn is cold and every morning, dew drops are everywhere. I hope i have lots of time tomorrow to dig one and check if my theory is right.
So, it's getting so late, i have to say goodbye for now. Thanks for stoping by at my post. See you all soon.
