Okay, what raced through your mind when you saw the caption, 'The revolutionary coin'?

Yes, coins have been in existence for a very long time. And we must be too familiar with the metal coin. But, even before metal coins as currency, there were coins in the form of fine stones, cowries, and beads. These coins are different physically. However, their similarities are in the power of purchase. They all serve a similar purpose at different times.

The scope of this article is not exactly about the aforementioned coins. But of course, mentioning them will give us a better understanding of just how revolutionary the coin is that we are going to talk about.

The Revolutionary coin is no other than the Bitcoin. As we delve deeper to see how revolutionary this coin is, I would appreciate it if you subscribe to my profile and please, let me know your thoughts in the comments about the revolutionary coin.

Now, only a decade before 2009, scarcely anything was known about Bitcoin. Maybe it existed long before 2009, but it started to gain popularity that year. Whatever the philosophy was behind its creation, we must admit that thoughtfulness precedes the inventor or inventors.

What I can pick from the creation of Bitcoin is, it was an answer to correct the too many anomalies with trade and financial tools. The financial tools that existed were not only too expensive to produce, but they are also tools of oppression in trade. If you are one who had read the book, "How Europe Underdeveloped Africa", you would agree with the author (Walter Rodney) about how the wealth of Africa is taken away from Africans by the Europeans.

Since the end of the colonial period, the government of the European countries and America, have used currency bias to take away the wealth of the African people. How? To answer the how is to ask yourself 'How much does a unit of dollars, Euros, or Pounds exchange an African country's currencies? In Nigeria, a unit of dollars exchanges over 400 units of nairas, and one unit of Great Britain pounds exchanges for about 600-700 units of naira. That is to say, just a bottle of water in the USA or Europe will buy 4-5 barrels of Brent Crude oil in Nigeria. Tell me, man! 1bottle of water= 4-5 barrels of crude. It is funny and sad at the same time.

Does it call to question on parameters where these exchanges agreed? Who called the shots in these parametric agreements?

Now, you wonder why with so many resources in Africa, governments still have to borrow monies from none resources-rich countries like itself? Well, this is because most of its wealth is lost in the process of exchange.

This is where the revolutionary coin comes in handy. With cryptos like Bitcoin and others, we don't need to pay exchange fees. Crypto is ideal for Africa to grow its wealth. And it is revolutionary because, unlike other coins that existed throughout man's civilizations, it exists not in physical but in virtual forms. The complex mathematics behind this revolutionary coin gives it security and power.
