Spermagedon

Male reproductive health is dangerously impaired in the developed countries of the West. Scientists who reported this dangerous phenomenon called this process "Spermagedon", because the decline in the number of sperm in last thirty years alone is 60% with a tendency to further decline. This trend has not been noticed so far and doesn't exist in poor countries, only the rich countries are endangered.

Impaired any function in the body 60% means a drastic disturbance of that function, of any system, cardiovascular, urinary, pulmonary, number of blood cells, etc. If, for example, you have such a large percentage of skin burned, you know what awaits you. All systems in the body with this decrease in the percentage of efficiency enter more serious pathological conditions whose clinical outcome is completely uncertain, i.e. they are on the verge of total breakdown.

The rate of decline in sperm count shows no signs of stopping in recent years. Most scientists blame fast food, pesticides, being overweight and most of the general factors of the so-called unhealthy lifestyle for that. I don't think diet could measure you selectively on sperm death, although it could have a slight indirect effect. How is it that such a phenomenon, reminiscent of the great extinction since the beginning of life, happens to sperm?

But before we expose the causes of sperm cataclysm as we see them, we need to look at who and what sperm are, to take a look out about their biology, biochemistry, physics and, not surprisingly, psychology, because they behave like intelligent cells. It is also necessary to briefly describe the distinctive cells in the light of his unheard of challenge of declining sperm count.

A man has to insert about 300 million spermatozoids into the vagina during sex, but that doesn't guarantee the success of overcoming other obstacles that we will describe. Spermatozoids have to go through obstacles that no other cells does. That is why they must be numerous and of Spartan character, ready to perish to the last in order for one to reach the goal.

Spermatozoids ( their precursors)are formed in the testicles. These original cells do not look like spermatozoids, until they pass through one part of testicle (lat. epididymis) which is located on one of the poles of testicle. This interesting creation is, of course, closely related to the testicle, but it also has its parts, head, body and tail. Especially interesting is the tail, which is a channel three to four meters long. These meters are nicely staked and and packed so that there is no impression that there is a structure four meters long. In them, spermatozoids slowly mature, moving towards the vas deferens, which is 50 to 60 centimeters long.

The vas deferens is a steam tube, 60 centimeters long, has a complicated path because it enters the male pelvis by first passaging through the inguinal canal (it is a known place in the groin where inguinal hernias form), and then goes straight back into the pelvis and from the back towards prostate. The are a couple of seed bags for each dictus, one with which they are combined and together they give a ejaculatory duct. Ejaculatory ducts are in pair, they are ejaculators whose openings appear on the back of the urethra that passes through the prostate.

So, the urethra serves to carry urine out of the bladder, but after the prostatic part, the path of spermatozoids and urine is common, only they have different timing of passage. The urethra from the level of the prostate passes through the root of the penis, and ends with an opening in the head of the penis.

Spermatozoids have no peace even in their own reproductive tract, because the urethra is an acidic environment that kills them. Fortunately, there are paired Cooper's glands at the root of the penis, which line the urethra with their basic secretion. These glands are activated as soon as the condition for sexual intercourse are certain. This preparation, which precedes ejaculation, saves a lot of spermatozoids from death in their own organism.

However, the suffering of the spermatozoids is just beginning. Given the circumstances of constant suffering, there must be as many of them as possible, and at least 300 million in one sexual intercourse that must be inserted into the vagina. With its strong acidic environment, which is about 4, the vagina for sperm represents the first execution site. The vagina is acidic to protect a woman from an external infection, so nature had to make an adaptation - an acidic vagina, but on the other hand million of spermatozoids.

The vagina is only a transient killing place for spermatozoids. Their target is the cervix, which is partly located in vagina, whose channel leads from the vagina to the uterus. The cervix is also an obstacle because it is closed by a hard mucous plug during a woman's cycle, which is an obstacle for the sperm. The mucous plug at the time of female ovulation under the action of hormones become more transient, and that is time when the mature egg is ready for fertilization. Spermatozoids that pass through the narrow opening of the cervix with great difficulty are found in the alkaline environment of the uterus, which for them is a real paradise and the end of all dangers.

All processes of development and behavior of gametes, female's eggs and spermatozoids are controlled by hypothalamus, giving orders through the endocrine and all other systems about the order and behavior of all biochemical molecules involved in this process - from the creation of gametes to birth. The hypothalamus is the inviolable master of everything else in the organism all its life. He is the master of life and death.

I think it has been mentioned that one of the reasons for the declining sperm rate is also leading a stressful life, which is a factor that occurs predominantly in western countries. While in poorer countries people are facing more imminent dangers, in countries which are considered "rich", the way people have to live their lives to "make it" leads to more stress and anxieties.

You are right. There is also some changes in genetic code. But, primary influence is fast life, creating acidic environment for these sensitive cells and that kill them with no mercy.
