Snoring Very Loudly

A while ago, I went out for a quick chat with our neighbor. I prepared my beverage before going. Just so I had something to sip on while we were chatting. Or was I thinking of passing time while consuming my drinks?

Anyway, it is becoming a habit to always visit someone during the day to have someone to talk to.

We had our usual exchange of stories. Then she mentioned that last time she went out in search for one of their dogs who had not been seen even if it was already around 11 pm.

Then she said she came around our area then heard a very very loud snore. She said she wondered who in the world was it. Then recalled what others in the vicinity had been complaining about.

At least three of our neighbors heard my snore and maybe it had went on for a long time without anyone telling it to me.

I already knew she wanted to ask if I was indeed the one who was snoring during that time.

We speculated that it was me based on the other accounts of our dear neighbors. Then I felt so embarrassed that if only I wasn't trying so hard to stay cool, I would have blushed and felt very bad.

I immediately pacified myself by saying that it happens on some people. I went home and did other things.

Then a while ago I tried reflecting about my very loud snore that I only came to learn from other people.

Actually, my husband has been complaining about it. His complaints started I guess when I started to learn how to sleep.

Before, I usually consume the night imagining this and that. Back when I was young and younger. Back when I was in college. I really use up the night imagining or maybe fantasizing. And I would get large eyebags, daytime sleepiness, and during those times I was still very skinny.

After marrying and having my first child, cut the story short, time came when I decided to learn how to relax and really sleep when needed.

If before I would fold my knees up to my chest when sleeping, I decided to learn how to sleep with a very relaxed position. I indeed slept at night and I noticed the loss of eyebags.

To make it clearer, I indeed slept when I wanted to. It's a little complicated but my point is that I trained myself to at least have deep sleep from time to time. I do have insomnia but, you know, I could still get deep sleep by relaxing.

Then roughly speaking I started receiving complaints about my loud snore. If before I would tease my youngest sibling snoring like she could vibrate the whole house, now, my situation is worse.

I do not know if I wasn't a loud snorer before but I speculate that it only started when I over relaxed sleeping plus my overweight.

It's a combination of a lot of factors. It is very embarassing to learn that you are a loud snorer and it is even more awkward to know that it was for a long time already.

Now I am trying to remedy my situation so as not to disrupt also my family when they are sleeping.

I am even more determined to lose weight and I will sleep on my side.

Since I recognize that no one is completely honest with regards to this matter, I am thinking of recording a video of myself while sleeping to hear the actual loudness of my snore. But I might be lazy to do that. So for now, hehe, I will just ask my husband nonstop to monitor and tell me how I snore.

I don't want to swear but please allow me to swear anyway. For once, hehe. I swear to do a way with this very loud snore of mine. Let us just say it is my added motivation to try and stay fit. Healthy controlled diet, exercise, checkup (will try my best to consult a specialist), and many other things.

One thing more, I will really stop bullying others. I just realized how bully I was. Without realizing, I have been telling pretty bad things to others, directly or through other people. And indeed what you give to others will come right back to you.

So I go back to square one and conclude that trying your best in life will save you from trouble and unnecessary embarrassments.

Hmmm... I am still stressed and distressed. How in the world did I become so overweight? The curiosity of the tastes of different foods, the unmet desires before of eating variety of foods or just the changes of things in life and the presence of kids.

I am kind of desperate of getting back in shape but there are a lot of struggles. During lunch after mass, hubby brought us to eat at a restaurant serving delicious buttered chicken. I was again tempted to recreate what I see that they are doing on mukbang videos. Especially the Korean mukbang.

Well well well, I will try to be more disciplined. (Talking again, huh? Do it, self, okay? No kidding! You've got to be ashamed. Let your family and neighbors sleep without being disrupted by your snore.)

I dearly hope this is not related to sleep apnea. There were few occassions where I felt I have had sleep apnea.

Then again, let me explain that I am a multifaced person. What I say now may in some way contradict what I have stated in the past. But it doesn't mean they aren't true or honest. It's a little complicated. Like how complicated it is to deal with this loud snore thing.

How about you, what were your experiences regarding loud snoring? I think once we witness someone having this condition, it would help to be honest and kind to the person. On the other hand, the person with the condition should seek ways on how to lessen it. Really, I believe that unusual loud snore could point to a more serious condition. It's best to err on the side of caution so let us get medical help.

But most importantly, we have to listen to our inner voice. It's there and it is honestly telling us what is wrong and what we should be doing. Sometimes, or oftentimes, we become deaf to our inner voice. We know ourselves best.

Good luck to those like me who are in search of ways to lessen the volume of sleep snores. May we all be healed.

My sister has the same issue as you. I think it's called sleep apnea. At least you acknowledge your loud snoring. She doesn't, even when so many of us tell her. I think you have to sleep with your head elevated to reduce the snoring.

I didn't want to believe at first. I am really bothered by the sleep apnea. Hoping I will be able to get back in shape in case it really will lessen. I sleep on my side but when I wake up, I always find myself sleeping on my back with my feet spread apart like I had no dignity at all. How I changed. Embarassing but it is the reality now.

Could it really be controlled? I believe that once you sleep, you’re ignorant of whatever that you do. I don’t snore though and I don’t like people that snore

I believe it could be. I don't snore before because no one was telling me I was snoring. But now they tell me I snore very loud. So I will try to experiment. Sleeping on back I think is one position that results in snoring. So I will sleep on my side and see what improvement it gives.
