The firefighters left earlier than expected but it was clear to Ben the journalists would hang around till the moment they had enough information to write a good story or they were called to a different location. Not each of them was smart but they had their ears everywhere and observed their colleagues as well. A halfword was enough to build a story out and Ben figured out some extra words would do the trick. He hoped to do his job undisturbed but a bit extra help was welcome.
"Look who shows up", he said loud enough for Hella of the National paper to hear, "Mrs. Gordon with the latest news."
He raised his hand and waved at her.
"Mrs. Gordon please, come over here. I am glad you are able to come and willing to inform me about the case of the missing girl. What luck there wasn't a fire at that time."
Hella didn't need to hear more. A missing girl and a fire would give her plenty to write about. The old lady hesitated as she saw the policeman wave at her and a journalist approaching her followed by a camera.
A hand grabbed her shoulder and a voice whispered in her ear "If you ask me you have a massive security danger, you better watch your steps and words lady. Gossipers are not the most favorite people around. I know where to find you!"
Well, there is someone who is not interested in information being given about the missing child and the fire that broke out.
