The Three Little Pigs - a fable
Once upon a time
Somewhere, not so far away
Three little pigs lived in a merry way
Each one of them had their skills
One was lazy, one was dumb
And the third one was a nerd
What they shared was being selfish.
Their mother couldn't keep silent and said:
"I am tired and sick of your idle ways
It's time to leave, no more delays
Find your paths, build a life,
Do as you like,
Get out boys it is Springtime.
No need to worry about me
I'll be fine.
Off they went out on the streets
The 3 siblings finally stand on their own feet
And have to take responsibility for their deeds.
After an hour the lazy one built a house of straw
It's a quick solution and super easy
Plus he didn't have to spoil his entire day
by working.
The dumb piglet found some sticks on his way
He crafted a house with his lack of wisdom
You can say it didn't look like a solid place to stay.
Pig number three, the nerd was keen
He decided to build a house out of stone
-It's unknown where he found it-
At least it was sturdy and would look serene
Once finished in the near future.
The downside was the experiment went slow
But with each brick he laid he did know
Once it was winter he had a home
A warm and safe shelter for him alone.
The day arrived that the wolf had the guts
To stop by
It only took him one huff and a blow
And that's why
The hasty hut made out of hay
Didn't last till the next day.
Only three puffs and blows were needed
To scatter the dumb pig's hut made of sticks.
It's worth mentioning that the wolf felt happy
For the time being he had had plenty of pork to eat
Finally, he could sleep without feeling hungry.
As the cold, icy wind blew through the oak's tree-top
The wolf made a stop at the third piglet's home
A place that stood firm since it was solidly built out of stone.
He knocked at the door of the selfish swine
Who refused to let him in
Get lost, he yelled, just like his mother had taught him
What he didn't know was that
The wolf was not lazy, not dumb and no nerd at all
He was skilled
Able to jump high and did not easily give up.
The end of the fable...
It's clear to see
That lazy and dumb ended up in the wolf's belly.
Those who believe the smart piglet escaped death should know they are wrong.
If safety is found in solitary, being locked up in one's home, it takes away all freedom.
If the wolf didn't eat the pork
the nerdy little pig stayed inside till eternity.
