Isn't it strange how we look down on people, their habits, primitive beliefs, but at the same time use their habits, the ones that fit us, just to comfort us and make our lives easier or... give it more sense?
Not yoga and meditation only but Zen, Reiki, Acupuncture, dreamcatchers, and animal spirits are all an example of what does not belong to most of us if it comes to the way how we are raised or the culture we are born in.
What makes this all so attractive to us?
Is it our stressful life?
The way we are raised, the constant pressure which tells us we should not waste our time, life, because we need to do something useful?
Does our soul searching for answers or does the mind need peace?
Can it be the memories of earlier life are calling and that's the reason we long for the old, simple way of living?
If we have a closer look at ourselves, our lifestyle and at others, we cannot deny the world changes. It changes if it comes to our habits and (private) beliefs/thoughts but not if it comes to our opinion about those whose habits we stole. Somehow we do not see the connection between the customs we adopted and the people who brought it to us.
A wolf is a great animal if it comes to a spirit animal but in real life and fairy tales we still label it as one of the worst animals around.
