It's a word frequently used in the wrong contest. I wonder how come. Most of us never feel hungry, never felt hungry, and "an appetite for" would be a better use of it. The thing about hunger is once you suffer from it, it's as if something is squeezing your stomach. That feeling takes long, to stop, to get away. Next, you feel dizzy, too tired to eat or drink and after that, you no longer care.
If you still care you can no longer eat. The appetite, mood for food is gone. It's not only you feel too tired to bite, chew, and swallow but the stomach and intestines gave up on eating as well. You never think about it but it's a fact. The inside of your body has trouble functioning, digesting, and all organs slowed down. The stomach might burst if you suddenly start eating or eat too much. You might manage to eat again but it's not said your problems are over. A digesting issue for the rest of your life can be the result. We never think about that. The fact that digesting food isn't as easy as it sounds, should be. To many this issue influences their life, the quality of life, a life with rules which need to be figured out and follow to make living with this disorder bearable. A condition which is not caused by oneself because of bulimia or anorexia or a serious illness like cancer but by parents who refused to feed you as a baby, a toddler. How sad is that?
