At the moment he decided to leave it felt as if he had spent ages with the woman. He felt exhausted. She had cried, talked, poured tea, cried again, and at least said a billion times she felt sorry. The only thing he had done was sitting, listening, and switching the recorder on and off. The essence of what she told was the same. He felt numb, dumb while staring at the tiny creature in front of him. How had she taken her away, made her come along? He didn't ask, the chief inspector had to end this.
He felt nausea and vomiting. Without a word he stood up and stepped towards the door. Before his hand reached the doorknob she stabbed him with a pair of sewing scissors in his hand. It was enough to surprise him and turn around. Good enough for her to hit him straight into his face with the baking pan.
