Do you vote?

20 41

It is a right to vote. Not that we all use that right but we should. It's true if it comes to it most of us are not heard but still we should use our right. One person might not be able to change the world if it comes to voting but many together can or at least give a clear signal.

It's strange or perhaps alarming how easily our vote is influenced by family, friends, society, or the idea it doesn't matter who we give our vote because they all are the same. We click a button or fill out "our" choice because others or some bot tells us who we should vote for. The bot tells the one who doesn't know (yet). It feels manipulative to me. A computer program by a person who has a certain opinion about... tells you what is good for you. It's not different from teachers telling you what is good for you. People who do not need to live your life will never be in the same situation, never deal with the things you have to deal with.

The idea nothing will change is a reason why many no longer care about politics and give up on their right as well. They prefer to stay home, have an extra beer, and complain about those who don't listen to them and everything else that's wrong in the world.

True there's a lot wrong which means there's enough reason to complain 24/7 or to join a group to shout out the frustration, molest people and vandalize shops. It might feel good to ventilate at times, it might be a sign to the rulers of a country but so is voting. If every complainer and couch potato would vote it would make a huge difference. Same for women who stay home and give up their rights. A personal right out of hands to someone else.

Keep in mind that even if votes are thrown away like happened during the last elections it still is a warning to those who lost votes, the trust. For sure they will try to dominate and rule with an iron fist but the good news is they know the end is near and there's no way they will reign or live forever!

If you like to vote for something positive, your own opinion instead of the "friends only" method you mainly use have a look here

I think voting is the right idea, especially in more local races where there are fewer votes and your support could actually make some difference. It is only one part of political activism, but I think it is worth doing.

We do not really have local races. For example we can not vote for a mayor. If everyone believes a vote doesn't count, you are not heard anyway, the logical result of that attitude is people do not even bother to go. With that attitude the bad leader already won.

😞 but no matter how well you choose, some people just change when they get in position and all those promises are thrown out the window then there's the case of occupational mismatch where the person isn't suited for the field no matter how hard they try but is still elected out of popularity

Yes they change. Same here. Why? Because they never win enough votes to reign alone and need others. The one who won here was ruled out because the others decided to work together to not make this possible. Not one kept to his promises. Scandal after scandal...

It is always good to surprise someone isn't it? Same topic just a different article. How great is that. This way we can show what is possible and how different our brain work. 😄👍💕

Its always a choice between voting because of familiarity or because of what the person has to bring to the table.

That is true. To many it is a habit to vote for... Even if they do not know what it stands for. I wonder why there's such a huge laziness of figuring that out and not if it comes to complaining.

Do you mean voting been controlled by bot? I haven't heard about such voting process before. Here in my country you vote based on your choice using ballot paper. No one sees who you vote for. Everyone including women vote as long as you are up to 18 years old. The only election problem we are having here is ballot snatching, manipulation of results by local party agents and ringing of election results.

Some cities use voting computers but the government said the outcome can be hacked. We are back to pencil and after the last voting many votes (papers) are thrown away.

The bot is for those who do not k ow what to vote for. The bot tells you after you filled out some questions. I tried it several times and I can tell you it's not my choice.

I wish in this country you could vote freely as before. Now the vote is just a simulation. Where I vote and in doing so, the voting machine only gives the vote to the government.

Free elections no longer exist here. Everything is manipulated by the power of socialism.

You have voting machines? We had them but the government said they were easy to hack. We vote with pencil and paper. Last elections they found many votes thrown away by the people who count them. Votes against the government. Coincidence?

A few years ago many votes we're thrown away and in other countries too. Now the excuse is no elections because of the pandemic... How about online?

How safe can your online vote be?

They can also modify the voting online.

But they can change the laws and delay the voting period a bit. Until ensuring a better environment to serve people.

They just want to reign longer. European countries followed if it comes to politics in the footsteps of the USA. EU government paid for Hillary her campaign and she lost. It was quiet a shock. It was the first te they did not say "what they vote in the USA people will vote here". They manipulated the outcome in Austria, Germany, France, with us and who knows where else. They do not want us to vote.

All politics is the same. They just want to stay in power no matter the cost.

People's interests don't matter to them.
