It is a right to vote. Not that we all use that right but we should. It's true if it comes to it most of us are not heard but still we should use our right. One person might not be able to change the world if it comes to voting but many together can or at least give a clear signal.
It's strange or perhaps alarming how easily our vote is influenced by family, friends, society, or the idea it doesn't matter who we give our vote because they all are the same. We click a button or fill out "our" choice because others or some bot tells us who we should vote for. The bot tells the one who doesn't know (yet). It feels manipulative to me. A computer program by a person who has a certain opinion about... tells you what is good for you. It's not different from teachers telling you what is good for you. People who do not need to live your life will never be in the same situation, never deal with the things you have to deal with.
The idea nothing will change is a reason why many no longer care about politics and give up on their right as well. They prefer to stay home, have an extra beer, and complain about those who don't listen to them and everything else that's wrong in the world.
True there's a lot wrong which means there's enough reason to complain 24/7 or to join a group to shout out the frustration, molest people and vandalize shops. It might feel good to ventilate at times, it might be a sign to the rulers of a country but so is voting. If every complainer and couch potato would vote it would make a huge difference. Same for women who stay home and give up their rights. A personal right out of hands to someone else.
Keep in mind that even if votes are thrown away like happened during the last elections it still is a warning to those who lost votes, the trust. For sure they will try to dominate and rule with an iron fist but the good news is they know the end is near and there's no way they will reign or live forever!
