Do columnists still exist? I mean those real columnists who shared their view on the world, a news item, tv show, film or movie. A view readers might not share but it was good to read. The columnist could make you think, laugh or cry. Might be some went crazy and wished him dead. Columnists write about everything but most of all about their views on life. A view, not an opinion or statement. There's no need to agree, to applaud or change your mind if they talk nonsense. Columnists are the standup comedians of a newspaper or magazine. They don't bring the news, they don't make the news they view it from a different perspective. There's no need to read them unless you want to read something different. If you embrace a different sound instead of hearing the same riddle over and over again.
The columnist was as free as a bird just like the comedian and any other artist. Freedom of mind is part of the creative mind. Different points of view, humour, the I'm kidding you approach but I do have a message for you.
Columnists make magazines better for sure even those who work under pressure. It's not always easy to be funny and today it turns out to be dangerous. From one moment to the next they break your neck, you are cancelled. How fast the world has changed.
It's a good thing I have so much humour on tape. What is suddenly not done, forbidden, and no longer broadcasted I can still watch. I am free to laugh my head off. I don't need to be ashamed about that. I don't feel replaced guilt for what someone in the far past might have done. Do you want to know why? Because it wasn't me. I am not responsible and refuse to be all because of what some in this community I am part of said. It's pathetic, truly said if you do. If the past, hundreds of year's ago still rule your life. How crazy is that and what a luxury if you have time, energy and money to complain about history. The world falls apart but who cares is a weird policy. One practised by spoiled rich young adults who never said a step into the real world. A world with ups and downs where people sing and laugh. Joking around isn't a crime neither is it a bizarre kind of humour. People laugh for different reasons. There's no need to rat someone out because you forgot how to have fun. How it feels to go out and have a good time.
What counts is we laugh, we let go of the build-up stress and live. So forget about your long toes, stop the misplaced feeling of being insulted and talk for yourself. Those you see as the minority, the vulnerable and the elderly can perfectly speak for themselves. Most of them have more humour in their little finger than the protester in his entire body. They don't need a speech man since they have learned that a good laugh at your own misery relieves. The underdog doesn't like to be abused or used for the complainer's higher plan, his urge to be noticed.
Kudos to the columnist, it's not easy to make people laugh in these hard times humour is medicinal to an extent
