Brave, new world

Months passed by and the world is busy with keeping the fear for the coronavirus alive. Not each coronavirus, not each SARS but this special one. The one that is good enough to scare the world, lock millions of people in, make them stay at home, depressed even turn them into drunks. Some governments are fine with it. It's better to have a drunk nation as one that starts asking questions, a nation that demonstrates and can think for itself.
It's a fact depressions increase and if this isn't put a hold more suicides will be committed. Do governments care? No, they do not. The fact is we are with way too many and all those people turn out to be a burden. A huge burden and the only way is to put a hold on it.

In the Western world having children is a luxury these days. It'no longer a need. Children will not take care of you. As an elderly person, you are good at for the money. The state wants it and your children want it too. You have your own home which means you can stay there. You can pay for a nurse, pay for food delivered at home, and spend your days alone. Alone or with the radio or tv set if you like. If you were smart enough to visit the club for the elderly you know how to surge the web, how to chat and meet people in a different way. The elderly of today is not the same as those who lived 20, 40, or 60 years ago. They can shop online, meet, and greet, and if you can't see them you have no idea who you are talking to. What they can not is escaping from home, traveling abroad. They are doomed to stay at home. The place where it's cold and they mainly wait. They wait till someone shows up and helps them dress (stupid stocking), to shower, they wait for someone else to clean and for a volunteer to bring their dinner. The dinner cooked early this morning. A tasteless meal and always cold.

The news doesn't bring much news since the pandemic was announced in 2020 and the world went into lockdown in March 2020. It's strange but there is no news. The only news items were: it's a pandemic, a coronavirus and if you get ill it's called COVID-19. Ill? Yearly many get sick and the flu kills more than are ever registered. No one cared about the flu of winter 2018-2019 although many died, too many.
The government keeps silent, only a few doctors say what is on their mind. Their mind isn't empty and they know more but they need to shut up. The media, Facebook, youtube they all remove the truth. Truth is spoken by a specialist who is worried about the alarming number of depressed people, the elderly locked in living worse than a serial killer in prison, the wrong treatments. Those specialists need to shut up. They have to be quiet just like the rest.
The government says they protect the elderly but in reality, they need to die. All those 70+-year-old people who pay for an expensive health insurance of over 140 euros a month with an own risk of 385 euros are not taken to the hospital. They are not welcome. I'll mean you die if you do not survive. "How do you want to die?" is the question asked not "How do you feel?" or "How can I help you?"

The government against euthanasia quickly approves a law to kill all those "suffering from Alzheimer". Useless people who are in the way. They only cost money.
The elderly die, high amounts of them, and the nursing homes are empty. At these places, caretakers do not count. They work without protection, no face masks, nothing. The nursery work they do doesn't count.
We do not hear much information about the virus except some company has 15 million vaccines ready. Vaccines no one tested and are based on? But hey, who cares what is in it? Who cares if more people get ill, will be the victim of the next man-made invention just like what happened during the Mexican flu (Influenza A). Like said there are too many people and this is a humane way to get rid of them.
People who never ask shouldn't complain if it doesn't work out the way they hoped for. That is what the government says and the media will say. "You asked for that vaccine yourself, you could have refused."

I wonder what it is that turned people so weak, made them stop questioning the decisions made. Is it the trust in the government, the pharmaceutical industry, or the fear of missing out again? How come not one single person asks deeper about this virus, when it will mutate, on what the vaccine is based? How come group immunity is no longer effective?
"The virus spreads over the country like an oil spot" I read in the paper. More people are infected and mainly all of them are the young ones. Is it really worth a new lockdown? Does it matter if these are the people who will hardly feel sick or not feel ill at all? If you ask me this is exactly what the Dutch prime minister hoped for. Group immunity and quarantine are useless.

We learned the virus will spread, mainly spread inside, and being immune is possible. The elderly are not those who spread it only the ones who are punished, ordered to spend the rest of their lives inside. They are the burden of the country and need to die first and after them the next generation. What will be left is a dumb nation without skills and money living in a dumb and obeying the master. How that world looks like I am sure you saw in several movies.
It's the brave, new world just a bit different.
