Hidden from the public eye because it is covered with tall grass for most of the year, this swamp in Thailand has recently become a world attraction.
From December to February, this shallow lake turns into an absolutely beautiful landscape covered with pink lotuses, making this area the largest lake covered with these flowers, which is why tourists have already called it the “Lotus Sea”.
Every year, local fishermen and villagers clean the road through the lake so that they can transport tourists by boat, and it is not uncommon for weddings to be organized on the lake.
For the locals, this swamp is important for several reasons. The lotus is edible and is a great treat. Lotus roots are found in mud, the stem grows through water, and finally, a fragrant and beautiful flower blooms above the water.
The swamp is home to about 80 species of birds, including several endangered species. For romantic types, this lake full of pink lotuses seems like the perfect tourist destination.
That is crazy beautiful. I am really into this kind of sceneries.
