We always thought the stigma of being a prostitute and stripper is a bad path of choosing career but did you know that theres a lot worst than this? what if your career is a executioner?how would you handle it?

Try being an executioner in the 16th and 17th century France.Executioners had the aura of a murder about them, the stench of the damnation, the recognition of a mortal who was surely hellbound in an era where religious text was as sure as the blue sky.

The job tended to stay within the family. The son became an executioner. The grandson became one, and so on. Executioner families even dated other executioner families.

If you were to break down an executioner’s tasks, it would not just consist of separating people’s heads from their bodies in front of crowds of people. They often had the duty of disposing of bodies, managing stray dogs, collecting taxes from lepers and prostitutes, and they could run gambling houses as well as seize them.

Also, executioners commonly wore a sigil or marking on them that announced who they were, and what they did. That gave a little extra bump in keeping commoners out of their way.

Executioners were seen as so cursed that they could touch the fruit and produce in the market place and walk away with it freely. Anything they touched was as damned as their soul in the eyes of the public.

Executioners were forced to live outside of the city and tended to associate with criminals and prostitutes, as no others would have them.

So how do you feel about this???
