You're having feelings of sadness or depression that last longer than 2 weeks.
All people experience sadness at one time or another,
However, most normal feelings of sadness get better with time.
The American Psychiatric Association reported abnormally intense sadness lasting two weeks
could be a sign of depression.
The National Institute of Mental Health stated, "not being able to snap out of it
or sadness being heavier than normal should be taken seriously."
You're having extreme mood swings and don't know why.
You find that your mood seems to switch super quickly or randomly?

According to the National Center of Biotechnology information and CVI,
this study showed people tend to experience positive emotions
such as joy or love more often than negative ones.
But it's totally normal for someone's emotions to change daily.

warns, especially dramatic mood swings that caused huge changes in your behavior and energy,
can be a sign of bipolar disorder.
Agencies such as the American Academy of Pediatrics say the more red flag signs are:
Experiencing sadness, anger, or feelings of excessive euphoria for most of the day,
especially if it has nothing to do with what's going on in your life.
Your worry and anxiety have gotten out of control.

Other signs of anxiety disorders include; having problems relaxing, Insomnia, racing thoughts,

Taking time away from others can be positive for your mental health and physical health.

Mental health pros, such as Raymond Starr junior and Howard Dubowitz,
say avoiding people or events
you used to enjoy can be a sign of mental illness such as depression, anxiety, or a psychotic disorder.
You may have noticed you're having delusions or hallucinations.
Kumari and others describe the two aspects of psychosis,
hallucinations and delusions,
as a sense of perception or belief that creates a lot of urgency in the person experiencing it.
Despite evidence the perception or belief isn't real.

Nami further stated 3 out of every 100 people will have a psychotic episode as a symptom of a physical
or a mental illness such as schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder in their lifetimes.

according to Mental Health America.
You're sleeping too much or too little.
The Harvard university school of medicine believes that 10 to 18 percent of the general population
has problems sleeping.
However,
Harvard's med school stated, either sleeping too much or too little
is two or three times more common in people who suffer from a mental illness.
The Harvard med school stated about 50% of people who live with ADHD, depression,
anxiety, or bipolar disorder suffer from insomnia or hypersomnia, which means sleeping too much.
You've started abusing drugs or alcohol.
According to MentalHealth.gov, one in four or 25% of people who live with the symptoms of a mental illness
Use alcohol or drugs to self-medicate things like anger, anxiety, or mania.
Experts believe individuals who suffer from depression, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, or schizophrenia,
are more likely to use drugs and alcohol as a coping mechanism
than people diagnosed with other mental illnesses.
You're having extreme anger outbursts
Do you ever feel anger that's almost impossible to control or way too much with the situation?
If so, your anger may be warning you about your stress levels, unresolved grief, or your anxiety.
Health line reported extreme anger outbursts can also be a sign of unresolved trauma,
bipolar disorder, alcohol abuse, obsessive-compulsive disorder, intermittent explosive disorder, or depression.

experts recommend first recognizing your physical and emotional signs of anger.
and 10. You've started thinking of self-harm or suicide.
The Mental Health Foundation reported up to 10 percent of people under the age of 30
have thought about self-harm or suicide.
There are many reasons people consider self-harm or suicide,
such as abuse or neglect at home, a major loss, trauma, or catastrophe that you can't control or avoid.
Bradvik (2018) reported approximately 90% of people who have completed suicide
also suffered from a severe mental illness such as Bipolar Disorder or depression.

But sooner or later, caviar always springs to mind – it’s widely considered to be
the most expensive food in the world.
These dark, slimy eggs might look unassuming, but they’re a certified food-of-choice for
the rich and famous.
Everyone from Aristotle to Gordan Ramsey has declared their impartiality to caviar, and
a single ounce can cost hundreds – or even thousands – of dollars.
Let’s face it, most of the world’s population have never even tried caviar.
If you’re one of them, you might be wondering what the fuss is all about.
Or maybe you have tried it, but were left wondering the same thing – caviar certainly
has a reputation for having a, well, unusual taste.
Many people assume that the high price tag comes down to caviar’s power as a status
symbol.
Much like designer clothes and flashy cars, there are plenty of people willing to splash
out on items that have a reputation for being expensive, for the simple reason that they
want to prove they can.
But when it comes to caviar, there’s actually a greater explanation for the cost.
In today we’ll investigate the history of caviar,
how it’s made, and why it’s so expensive.
Caviar comes from the unfertilized eggs – otherwise known as roe – of the sturgeon, a prehistoric
fish that has inhabited the earth for over 250 million years, predating even the T-Rex.
The sturgeon is a distant relative of the shark, and it certainly bears a resemblance.
Measuring six to twenty-four feet long and weighing up to sixty kilos, this ancient creature
is a force to be reckoned with.
Due to their huge size, female sturgeons can also produce millions of precious eggs; it’s
not hard to see why they’ve been likened to living goldmines.
The fish are native to North America and Eurasia, specifically the Caspian Sea and the Black
Sea.
There are twenty-seven species across the world in total, but only seven are hunted
or farmed for their roe.
In fact, the majority of caviar on the market comes from just four species:
the Beluga; the Sterlet; the Osetra, and the Sevruga.
The Beluga, found mostly in Russia, is known for being the highest quality and most expensive.
Unfortunately, even though wild-caught caviar has historically been the most desirable,
there aren’t many wild sturgeons in the sea anymore due to overhunting.
Instead, the majority of roe comes from farms.
Production is highly concentrated in a few locations – there are just two thousand
sturgeon farms in the world, and the Chinese company Kaluga Queen produces 30% of the world’s
caviar alone, making up sixty tonnes annually.
Most other farms are in traditional sturgeon hotspots like the U.S., Russia, Europe, and
Iran.
So, you can probably already see the first reason why caviar is so expensive: there’s
not much of it to go round.
Tragically, sturgeons are the group of species most critically endangered in the world: eighteen
of the twenty-seven types are on the red list for threatened species.
According to the WWF, it’s estimated that sturgeons in major basins have declined by
70% over the last century.
This is almost entirely due to the impact of humans.
Throughout the twentieth century, sturgeons were poached aggressively and their numbers
saw a rapid decline.
Although many other species have been fished or hunted by humans, the impact of this is
greater on the sturgeon population due to their biology.
Most animals can procreate within months, weeks, or even days – but for the sturgeon,
this process takes years.
Depending on the species, sturgeons only reach sexual maturity when they’re between eight
and twenty years old.
This means that if they’re being poached ferociously, it’s impossible for them to
repopulate quickly, leaving them vulnerable to extinction.
Plus, even though female sturgeons produce millions of eggs each time they procreate,
chances are that only one of those eggs will actually make it into adulthood.
This means that sturgeons are vulnerable even when left in nature, but add poachers into
the equation and chances of survival are even lower.
Authorities have now ramped up their efforts to protect the sturgeon.
There’s been a huge reduction in the number that can be legally poached, to the point
where it’s almost impossible to get your hands on wild-caught caviar, and imports and
exports are closely monitored by most countries.
Nonetheless, it’s hard to stop illegal poaching completely.
Remember, sturgeons are practically goldmines – this creates a vicious cycle as their
scarcity and high value gives poachers an incentive to take part in this harmful trade.
And overfishing isn’t the only reason sturgeon numbers are running low.
The prehistoric fish are also extremely sensitive to the temperature and cleanliness of water
– even subtle changes can threaten their survival.
**And which man-made event has altered water masses all over the globe?**
Pollution.
Water contamination has had a tragic impact on the sturgeon population, including tumors
and disease in the vital organs and muscles.
Deformities in eggs have become more common too, which has changed the taste of caviar.
As if fleeing poachers and inhabiting a poisoned environment wasn’t enough, dams and the
destruction of natural watercourses have made it more difficult for sturgeons to reach their
feeding and breeding grounds.
Basically, they’ve had a tough few years.
It’s no secret that scarcity brings value.
It might sound insensitive to compare animals to commodities, but you don’t exactly need
to be an Economics professor to know that supply equals demand.
When there’s less caviar to go around, you have to pay above the odds to get your hands
on some.
But even if sturgeons weren’t on the verge of going extinct, high-quality caviar would
still be unlikely to come cheap.
This elusive species is also extremely complicated to farm.
Remember, sturgeons take between eight and twenty years to be able to produce eggs – that’s
a lot of time to be waiting around and continually feeding a fish.
Knowing when the sturgeons are going to produce their roe isn’t an exact science either,
especially if you want to be sure the eggs are in perfect condition.
There’s no magic formula saying delicious eggs will be ready the minute a sturgeon turns
ten years, two months, and five days old.
Instead, farmers must carry out regular autopsies over the course of various years.
It’s not exactly a cheap and easy job.
Of course, only female sturgeons can actually produce eggs – but there’s no way to tell
males and females apart until they’re a few years old.
Even then, the only way to differentiate is by carrying out a body scan.
Nobody wants to risk forgetting a sturgeon’s gender after all that hassle!
So, four tanks are needed: one for growing; one for breeding; one for females, and one
for males.
When the female sturgeons have finally grown their much-anticipated roe, there are two
ways to extract it.
In the past, breeders always killed the sturgeons to get the eggs out.
This is still a common practice, but a new method called stripping is beginning to gain
popularity, in which sturgeons are injected with hormones to ease out their eggs.
Both are expensive processes.
Considering a sturgeon can live up to one hundred years, killing it when it’s reached
less than a fifth of its potential lifespan can certainly be seen wasteful, ethics aside.
But paying for hormone injections to get the eggs out is expensive too.
So, just to recap, farming sturgeons involves: caring for a fish for years until its gender
is identified; monitoring female sturgeons constantly for at least eight years to check
the status of their eggs, and ensuring the water is a perfect temperature and the sturgeons
are happy, healthy, and stress-free.
It’s a tall order just to get a few eggs!
The roe is harvested by hand, separated gently from the membrane without bursting the balls,
and it’s then rinsed in cold water.
Typically, the eggs are divided into categories depending on their quality.
It’s believed that fuller, rounder and lighter-colored eggs have the highest quality and the best
taste.
Finally, the perfect amount of sea salt is mixed in, and the caviar is left to mature
for around four months.
There are some serious costs involved in all of this – years of human labor, sophisticated
equipment, and a complicated production process.
Now you understand why the cost of caviar is justified, you’re ready to brace just
how expensive this delicacy really is.
The cheapest caviar from Costco costs $31 per ounce.
To put that into context, the same quantity of Wagyu steak costs around $7.50, and lobster
is an economical $1 per ounce.
That already sounds expensive, but realistically you’re likely to be paying a lot more.
The price varies widely depending on the species you buy, but expect to pay between $50 to
$3,000 per ounce from a respected brand.
Beluga caviar, which is generally revered as the best-tasting type, costs $350 per ounce
on average.
Even a cheaper alternative, like Siberian caviar, costs $75 per ounce.
If you come across something cheaper, you might want to check you’re buying real caviar.
Sometimes eggs from other fish, like salmon, are sold as caviar, but ‘true caviar’
always refers to the eggs of a sturgeon.
Prices can reach unbelievable heights.
According to the Guinness World Records, the most expensive caviar in the world comes from
the Iranian Beluga.
Sometimes referred to as ‘black gold’, a single ounce costs $17,000.
It might sound ridiculous, but the Iranian Beluga is a rare albino sturgeon that only
reaches sexual maturity at the ripe old age of sixty.
The caviar is said to have a smooth, buttery taste and to be the most delicious in the
world – but good luck with ever finding that out first-hand
Naturally, you can’t eat caviar in any old way.
If you have the audacity to use a spoon made of metal, even silver, it could react with
the roe and ruin the taste.
Instead, opt for mother-of-pearl – we all have a mother-of-pearl spoon lying around
in our cupboard somewhere, after all.
Alternatively, the traditional way of eating caviar is to place it on the skin between
your index finger and thumb, then roll the eggs slowly around your mouth.
The eggs are supposed to pop in the mouth and release the flavor.
As for serving suggestions, you can either eat caviar on its own or accompany it with
neutral foods like potato or cream cheese.
So, next time you feel like burning some money you at least know how to do it properly.
Sturgeons have been around longer than the dinosaurs, so the rich and famous of the modern-day
aren’t the only ones who’ve had the chance to indulge in this luxurious food.
Various pieces of ancient literature contain references to caviar, and some say it could
be one of the oldest delicacies in the world.
It’s been desired by kings and aristocracy for decades, including the Ancient Greeks,
the Romans, and Russian tsars.
In fact, it was Russian tsars that first pushed the idea of caviar as a luxury item, after
the French began to import the food from them.
But caviar hasn’t always been so expensive.
Once upon a time in the nineteenth century, sturgeons were so prolific within North American
rivers that roe was thrown away as a waste product onto beaches and streets.
It was often served in saloons for free because owners believed that the salty taste would
encourage customers to buy more drinks.
So, what’s changed?
Before pollution and the destruction of waterways became an issue, conditions allowed sturgeons
to thrive in their environment despite their challenging biology.
This meant they could be caught in the wild instead of farmed, which was cheaper.
And even though people did go fishing for sturgeons, caviar wasn’t internationally
sought-after to the extent that overfishing became an issue.
Eventually, the proliferation of sturgeons in the areas with a surplus began to be noticed.
Entrepreneurs arrived with an interest in exporting the product, which led to the US
producing the majority of the world’s caviar in the nineteenth century.
This caused a caviar boom, which eventually led to a shortage in sturgeons and an increase
in prices.
It’s hard to separate the story of caviar from the tale of environmental destruction
at the hands of humans.
Sturgeons were going strong for literally hundreds of millions of years, surviving everything
from ice ages to meteoroids, until we came along and decided their eggs were a valuable
commodity.
It goes to show that caviar isn’t just expensive for being a status symbol.
Not only are the species some of the most endangered in the world, but sturgeon farming
is extremely labor intensive and complex.
But, on a lighter note, there’s hope for the future.
New advances in aqua farming and production technology are making sturgeon farming more
efficient and affordable.
For instance, biologists in Wisconsin are helping sturgeons return to spawn in the area,
inspiring similar schemes around other rivers around the US.
As well as taking the species of the red list, this is likely to reduce consumer prices.
So, have hope: maybe one day, you too will be able to taste caviar.

You heal your heart,

and that can be hard to do,

Number three is you let new energy back in.
Here's the thing, after a breakup,
there's so much negative energy.
Even if you were the one who broke up with someone
or he broke up with you, it's just not a good thing, right?

I've been both broken up with
and I've broken up with other people,
and never have I felt just like positive energy after it.
So keeping silent allows you
to allow positive energy back into your life
and be able to not only open it up to other people,
your friends, your family,
but also allow yourself to just go out there
and talk to other people, meet other people,
and realize that
there are other options out there.
Number four is you kill the fantasy
of the perfect relationship.
When a relationship ends, what do you do?
You fantasize about that person.
You fantasize about how perfect that relationship was,
and you're only of course thinking about the good things
that occurred in the relationship.
But I've found that once you give about three weeks,
four weeks of time to kind of let it all settle down.
You start to remember all the fights,
you start to remember all the sketchy
that he used to do,
you start to remember why the relationship
may have ended in the first place.
And many times by killing the fantasy
and allowing this time of healing,
you are allowing to kind of come back
to reality a little bit.
Number five is you stop reliving the mistakes
over and over and over again.
Sometimes when you're broken up with, what do you do?
You start texting that person, you wanna reach out to them,
and what does that person do?
They keep breaking up with you
over and over and over again,
because they want it to be over,
they want to move on,
they want to do something else with their life
at that point in time.
So by creating this no contact period,
what you're doing is you're allowing yourself
to kind of like reframe your life a little bit,
you don't have to relive all that
that occurred in that relationship.
Number six is you take time to grieve.
And if you can understand how grief really works
when you're going through a breakup,
it's going to allow you to get past that
and through that in a very healthy way.
Number seven, it stops you from looking
completely desperate.
Keep contacting your ex after a breakup,
and you know what you look like?
Desperate. Have dignity, have respect.
I mean I remember many years ago I was dating this woman,
we were seeing each other a pretty short period of time,
like one to two months.

In October of 1347, 12 ships dropped anchor at a Sicilian port.Those who eagerly approached were met with a grisly sight.**Almost all aboard were either dead or barely alive, their skin erupting with blackened** boils that dripped blood and pus.In horror, the Sicilian authorities demanded the ships set sail, but though they left,the damage had already been done.The Black Death was now in Europe and millions would die in what is considered one of the greatest disasters in history.Let’s explore how the bubonic plague wiped out at least a third of Europe’s population,, What Made the Black Death so Deadly?Europe was hit hard by the plague, but it was not hit first.It was also not unaware of a disease that was already bringing widespread death and destruction elsewhere.Before the infested ships arrived in Sicily rumors of a frightful sickness devastating the populations of first China and then India, Egypt, Persia, and Syria had spread near and far.No one knew what caused it or why, it seemed to follow trade routes spanning the Near and Far East.Further, when it appeared, it was by all accounts unstoppable.Those struck by the Black Death would begin to swell at the lymph nodes located in their groin area or under arm regions.The growths would soon develop into large blackish blue egg-sized lumps, or for the even less fortunate, expand to the size of apples.These would then fester and ooze various bodily fluids.Beyond this, those with the disease could develop any combination of a series of additional symptoms.These included fever, pain, chills, sweating, upset stomach, and diarrhea.Almost always, this was followed by death.According to those who observed its effects first-hand, all it appeared to take was brief physical contact with the clothing of someone who was sick to pass the disease on to another.Though, some doctors claimed that it was the spirit leaving the body of the deceased that infected others as it passed by.Obviously, at this point in history the real methods of disease transmission were not yet well understood.Without understanding it, most were helpless to defend against it.Few areas other than some islands cut off from the rest of Europe by the sea made it through the pandemic plague-free.The rest of the population was not so lucky.The bacterium infiltrated virtually every European city’s defenses and many who appeared perfectly healthy one day could be dead a few days later.It was uncommon though possible for someone to survive a week or two before he or she died.Compounding problems further, those with the disease would typically be asymptomatic for the first few days and so no one would be aware that they had caught it.This meant that successfully isolating them from the rest of society at this point was all but impossible.Those who tried the next best thing to protect themselves by fleeing for the country were not safe there either.The plague decimated livestock as well and countless pigs, cows, chickens, goats, and sheep who also died a brutal death.This was such a problem that it led to a shortage of wool throughout the continent.While many European areas had a death figure of around 30%, 90% of the Italian city of Florence perished.Sometimes, bodies of the deceased remained where they had died as there were not enough people still living to bury them.Thousands of French villages in addition to areas in other locations were left without a single remaining soul.The Black Death had mercilessly transformed them into ghost towns.In some instances, nature eventually took over, and areas that people once called home were re-claimed by surrounding forest.It took aerial photography following the end of World War I to rediscover these locations as places where men, women, and children once lived.Most estimates place Europe’s death total between 50 and 70 million, or around thirty-some percent, though the CDC claims it killed as much as 60% of the population, which is considerably more.World-wide estimates typically range from 155 to 200 million.The world at the time was a mere 500 million people, so nearly half of all of its’ inhabitants,or again according to some sources even more, were killed.So how was it that the Black Death was able to spread so quickly and wipe out so many,people and animals alike?Well for one, as previously mentioned, there was little in the way of scientific knowledge in the 1300s. Not only did people not understand the plague’s causes or modes of transmission, but there were also countless failures in how those in the medical field attempted to treat it.It is true that Yersina pestis, the bacterium behind the Black Death, or bubonic plague,is highly contagious.It can also be spread in many ways, though obviously contaminated spirits aren’t one of them.Many believe that in its later stages it had the ability to morph into an airborne strain that could be passed on to a new host via a simple sneeze or cough.However, all strains, airborne or those in the more initial stages that are not, are believed to have been transferred through flea or lice bites.And many animals in addition to countryside livestock serve as hosts for the bacterium and blood sucking pests.Examples are things like squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, and mice.However, many in the scientific field have argued that by far the worst contributor to the spread of the Black Death was the urban rat and its flea.Part of the reason for this belief is that rats have been observed to develop symptoms quite similar to those in people, and in cases of the modern-day plague many people with the sickness had accompanying bites from fleas.Recent outbreaks often follow what’s known as ‘rat falls’ as well, or when the rodents die off in record amounts for whatever reason.Thus, the most prevalent theory is that the Black Death all began when rats with the plague died and their fleas then looked for more blood in another readily available source,which would at times be human.Upon being bitten by the contaminated flea this person would then be exposed to the deadly bacteria.Seemingly in support of this theory, ships during the mid-1300s were commonly infested with the furry rodents who thrived in their dark.moist environment.And following the death ships’ arrival in Sicily the plague continued to spread further following a trade route pattern, as it had previously in Asia, to other port locations through out Europe and as far down as North Africa.However, more recently there have been some proposed tweaks to this rat-based theory.As we just mentioned, the Black Death, after all, is not the only outbreak of the plague in the world’s history.There have been outbreaks before as well as after, and those that took place more recently followed a different pattern entirely.Europe’s black death spread much faster, and as far as historical records are concerned there was no mention of a mass rat die-off in the days or months preceding it.Now, some scientists suggest that it was human fleas and lice that were the true culprits behind Europe’s version of the disease.In this case fleas would bite infected people and then move on to others, one by one, who happened to be in the nearby vicinity.They describe the underlying mathematical model that a rat-flea spread follows is quite different from a human-flea or lice one.And, when information was plugged into simulations the human-flea model more closely matched data from seven of nine plague-hit European cities.Those with this newest evidence admit that the causes of the plague are surrounded by ongoing controversy.However, whether the fleas were of the human or rat variety, it is blood sucking pests of one kind or another that likely passed it on successfully and so very quickly.It also turns out that the Black Death may not have been causing mass devastation all by itself.When victims bodies were exhumed from mass graves in England anthrax spores were also discovered along with them.If anthrax was occurring at the same time as the plague this would definitely have made things much worse.Anthrax cannot only be passed by coming into contact with sweat, saliva, or tears but also by mere skin contact.In other words, at the time of the Black Death pandemic, people could have come down with a life-threatening disease of one kind or another in pretty much every conceivable way.It is possible anthrax and other diseases made people extra susceptible to the plague due to already compromised immunity.Also, it is possible that the body count of those claimed by the Black Death included victims that actually died from anthrax or other diseases.Beyond its quick transfer from host to host and the contributions of additional disease,the way the Black Death was treated failed to help and may have actually helped kill victims or spread it further unintentionally.For example, at least initially, medical practitioners would do such things as perform bloodletting on patients with the plague.This is where they cut into veins or arteries in the necks or arms of those who were sick,so that their blood flowed freely.This procedure was nothing new and, in fact, dated back as far as to the times of ancient Egypt and Greece.Historical figures believed that to be healthy the body needed the right balance of blood,phlegm, and bile.Bloodletting was believed to correct a possible imbalance of too much blood which is what caused the person to get sick.Unfortunately, the procedure appeared to be as ineffective for the victims of the plague as it was for Charles II or George Washington centuries later.While Washington awoke with a sore throat and King Charles suffered a seizure, following bloodletting treatment both died shortly thereafter.Boil-lancing was another technique used as a form of treatment which was just how it sounds.Someone would essentially lance, or stick a pointy object, into the boils to drain them of their gooey contents.If this wasn’t done, they would only continue to grow larger and, in time.poison their host due to the mass build-up of dead blood and pus.Then again, popping them could also cause death due to toxic shock.Beyond the patient likely dying, the boils contained highly contagious matter and possibly spread the disease yet further.Other methods such as the burning of various herbs or immersing the sick in vinegar or rosewater were also, unsurprisingly, ineffective.In time, after failure upon failure and in an attempt at self-preservation, many doctors.simply stopped accepting patients.Even priests began refusing to perform last rites out of danger for their own safety.Where man failed nature did little to help either.Not only did people have little idea of how to handle the plague, but they were genetically prone to succumbing to it.Studies of the remains of the European population at the time determined that only 0.2% had a gene that offered them any form of immunity.The other 99.8% had none.Since so many of those who were susceptible to the plague died from it, they did not pass their genes on further to the following generations.Many of those who did have the gene lived on to procreate.This is why Caucasian Americans now have a 15% chance of having some resistance to the disease.This is pretty good news considering the modern form of the plague is still around today.One encounter via the 12
