A newlywed man was returning home with his wife. They were crossing a river with their boats; but suddenly a great storm broke out. The man was a warrior; but despite this his wife was very scared. Because it seemed impossible for them to escape from the storm. Their boots were very small and the storm was so enormous that they could sink at any time.

But despite all this the man was sitting quietly and calmly as if nothing was happening.

As the woman trembled with fear, she said to the man: ‘Aren't you afraid?

This may be the last moment of our lives! It looks like we cannot reach the other side of the river. Only a miracle can save us, otherwise we will die. Are you not afraid? Did you go out of your mind?

The man laughed and brought his sword quickly to her neck as he unsheathed it. The sword was so close to her neck that it almost touched her neck.

The man asked the woman: "Are you afraid?"

Then the woman started to laugh and said:: If the sword is in your hand, why should I be afraid? I know you love me.'

The man sheathed his sword and said: This is my answer to you. I know God loves me; the sword in his hand, the storm in his hand… whatever will be good. If we can survive the storm, it's good, if we can't, it's fine too… Because everything is in his hands and he will never do anything wrong.

This is the confidence that a person should absorb. Such trust can change your whole life. If you trust the universe, you will soon calm down and be quiet; you will be happy and joyful and feast; because the universe feasts. The universe is not sad; it is a song, a beautiful song and dance goes on. Be a part of this dance and trust in nature; this is the only way. By trusting yourself, you will trust the God who created you. If you don't trust yourself, you don't have confidence in the God who made you.
