How can we make the right decision in the situation we were hesitant?

Sometimes there are situations where we all experience indecision. We find it difficult to make decisions, especially when the options are very similar. Indecision often happens more when faced with options that we don't know much about. We are indecisive between two business opportunities with similar circumstances.

For a vacation we are planning, we can be torn between two places you shouldn't choose. Although logic is suitable for making the right decision, our feelings and intuitions are very important for making the right decision.

In cases where we are unsure, we can try the following suggestions to make the right decision:

1) Identifying the positive and negative aspects of options

Although logic is often based on numerical redundancy, sometimes a single negative attribute can outweigh all the remaining positive qualities. For example, if we are torn between two job opportunities, the option with all qualifications higher than the other may not be the right decision due to the difficulty of access to the workplace. In this case, we can obtain information on many issues such as the nature of the job, our position at the workplace, the wages we will receive, working hours, security risks, and how healthy working conditions are, and we can make the most appropriate decision.

2) To determine the most important criteria for us

The most suitable option for one person may not be suitable for another. Personal criteria are important for the right decision. The right decision is not absolutely correct, it is the most suitable option for us. For example, peace of mind at the place where I work is much more important to me than what I will get. Although it gives me happiness to do many things alone, staying alone for hours in a closed environment is torture for me. If we know our criteria and know enough about the options, it will be easy for us to make a decision.

3) We can get help from someone we trust to help you decide.

Different viewpoints can shed light on points we do not see. Points pointed out by people you trust and trust can help us make the right decisions. We can benefit from the opinions of others, but ultimately we have to make the decision ourselves. Our aim should be to look at options from a broader perspective. It is not about having someone else make our decision for us ... Because we will experience the results of the decision we made. Putting our responsibility on someone else in this regard cannot keep us from experiencing these consequences.

3) Listening to our intuition

Our intuition enables us to make the most appropriate decision. However, our logic can sometimes outweigh our intuition. We may not even be aware that we have love. It can manifest itself with our intuition, feelings, dreams, signs that we encounter. Imagine choosing one of the options to make the decision that works best for us. Pay attention to your feelings. How does it make you feel !? Do you feel happy, comfortable, well or restless, anxious, troubled? Watch your body's reactions. If your stomach or jaw is twitching, this is a sign that something is not right. If you feel excited about flying butterflies in our hearts, you are in the right place. Do the same for other options.

4) Asking God to guide us in making the right decision.

When we seek divine guidance, we are given divine guidance through our dreams or through our thoughts or feelings set in our minds at once. The law of free will applies in divine guidance except in life-threatening situations. We must demand it for divine help. When we pray, we seek divine help from God. No matter what religious belief you hold; It is important to pray, wish or demand from the universe.

5) Deciding at the most appropriate speed

In some cases, it is important to make a quick decision. Some decisions may need to be analyzed by thinking more about them. In situations where we need to make quick decisions, we can make the right decision by evaluating certain important criteria. Before making some decisions, we may need to make a more detailed assessment.

6) Avoiding making decisions under emotional intensity

The more peaceful we are, the easier and better we decide. It is important to make the right decision when we feel better, rather than making decisions in very emotionally intense moments. Excessive emotional tension negatively affects our decisions. Making a decision with the intense effect of a certain emotion can prevent us from seeing everything else, causing us to regret later. We have to calm down first.

7) Do not overestimate our decisions

Making decisions is more important than indecision. The more we are indecisive, the more we worry. Wanting to make the best decision puts a lot of pressure on us. Except for the number of decisions, no decision is of vital importance. Even if we make the wrong decision, it improves us by allowing us to gain experience. When we make our decision, it is the right decision. Experiences make us more knowledgeable, powerful and equipped. In this respect, there is actually no such thing as a wrong decision. Deciding without overestimating our decision allows us to make decisions without creating unnecessary tension.

Note: Since people in managerial positions are not just making decisions about themselves, decisions made can be of greater importance. However, in this article, I wanted to write suggestions not for managers and leaders, but for those who are indecisive when making decisions with their own lives. Managerial decisions require evaluating many more criteria as they involve everyone.

As Anton Chekhov said, "Even the worst decision is better than indecision."

In this article, I wanted to include some tips that come to my mind that I find useful. Of course, this is not all. You also have methods and tips that you use. When you are in doubt, you can specify the methods you use and the items you want to add in the comment. Thank you very much for reading.

Even when we look carefully at the criteria when making a decision, it seems to me that we are influenced by emotions.

Yes. Emotions are part of our life. Often we want to make a decision that will make us happy at the end. In my own experience, when emotions and logic cooperate, wonderful results happen when they both say the same thing. In this case, all other options lose their importance.
