tl;dr we all should have honest answers, and ideal answers that we can grow into when it comes to crypto, because otherwise, we're all just gambling, and that's not exactly bad, but it might not be good, as well, if at all.
This post was actually inspired by a conversation/argument(? Hahaha, but all in good faith and cheer) l had with Lerkfrend over on one of my channels in noise.cash on lazy life hacks, that l might also blog about here, should l get enough material.
I also published this on publish0x first even as l plan to also post this on read.cash because I read that there was an issue with proving that you own your content here if it was published elsewhere first(?).
And so after much ado:
1) What's your honest answer to,
'Why and how did you get into crypto?'?
2) And what's your, 'world peace/running for president' answer to that?
3) And as a final follow-up, how will you get from your honest answer to your, 'world peace/running for president one'?
Mine is,
1) l had free time and some idle money, so l tried hodling for 3 quarters in a year and my money 3x'd, and it was much more than what the money market, and stock market funds could ever give me for the same time span, so...l guess sloth, and greed?
And my world peace answer is,
l really believe that crypto is going to be the future of magic teleport money. While l doubt that it will replace fiat completely in my lifetime, it's still the best at at least that.
I also believe that blockchain technologies will be able to resolve issues we used to have with intellectual property (but may create new ones), and will revolutionize research and how we handle data at par with how the PCR is revolutionizing medicines.
There's also the fact that l believe that NFTs will make the phenomenon surrounding modern art collection more mainstream, and it's already happening now. If only there was a way for us to preserve the artworks themselves, and not just the tokens that serve a lot like land titles.
For the 2nd and 3rd 'world peace' answers, l probably don't have to do any more than what l have already been doing, but l could also learn more about programming/developing around blockchains to ride that wave, and/or create NFTs myself.
For the 1st one, in order to make 'magic money' matter, we must all look at our immediate communities, and teach. It's something that an introvert like me is still struggling with, and l also need a better narrative.
Nobody would believe a person who hasn't 'gotten rich' off of crypto, at least not yet, but if we do our part to make the people around us more curious about new things, and more open to learning, regardless of educational attainment/signaling, then we won't need these, 'when lambo' types of stories to onboard others/normies.
dear god you capitalized my name! it's not triggering in the sense of trauma, but MY EYES! can't unsee!
