How was your day? hope you are all doing well despite the storm, some people were devastated due to the flood, and houses are destroyed by the strong wind. Let us always be careful because the pandemic is not over yet.
8 days to go and it's Christmas 😃 are you busy wrapping gifts? there are also Christmas parties everywhere, we are busy with all the preparations for the party. We also have our party today and every time there's a party I have difficulties looking for gifts😅.
Well, my reflection for the day is Generosity, it's my 5th day now, and thank you for reading my previous articles. Timely it's the season of giving, and this time our level of generosity will be tested lol (kidding). Here come our godchildren asking for their gifts ( ninong/ninang dami nyo nang butal😜), our parents, siblings, and exchange gifts with family and friends. So many gifts to buy, but have no enough money. The question is, is it all about money?
Yes, money can buy material things that we can enjoy for a while. But money can't buy true happiness that lasts for a lifetime. Showing generosity is happy to give time, money, food, or kindness to people in need. But generosity is about more than cash and stuff. Generosity is not compliance, it is the act of willingness to give without expecting something in return. We give because somebody needs something but don't expect that they will return the favor.
Showing generosity is you put others before yourself. We always thought generosity only reflects giving things and money, but our time, money, talents, resources, and our life itself were all given to us as gifts from God. He gave these gifts so He may use us to give to others. Generosity is our opportunity to serve the purpose of our Creator. Having the quality of being generous especially being kind, understanding, and not selfish is a gift from God, not all people can have that initiative to be generous at all times.
"Let us be enriched in every way to be generous in every way and to give the glory and thanks to you Lord."
2 Corinthians 9:11
