Friends. Do you have a friend? A friend who you can always rely on? A friend who always celebrates your success? Or... a friend who came into your life and then go? 'That' friend who pulls you down? Nah, that's not a true friend... if you feel like someone manipulates or control you keep your distance with them because you cannot move forward to your life if they are into your life. They will just keep making you feel bad even though you're not doing anything. Even if it's sad... let go of them.
I once had 'that' kind of friend who had been so manipulative to the point that my family got involved and that's where I burst out. That's the time that I realized how 'bad influence' she was to me. Otherwise, I gave her one last chance but she threw it away. So, I let her go. And then, I feel free, I can now breathe... finally.
We have different definition of the word, 'friend'. We have a friend who were always there for us even if we did not talk for the long time, months, years or even a decade but when you see each other again you can say that nothing changed with your relationship except that you have different perception and principles in your present life.
In my journey, I encountered different attitides of people. There are person who is shy, hot-tempered, kind, adorable, and who don't care about the world. But you know what? We can be friends with everyone if we just want to. It is how we communicate with them and makes them feel that we are their friend.
Yesterday morning, my friends way back in junior high school and I decided to hang out to have late celebration for my birthday. Four years, four years that we did not have communication but nothing changed. We understand each other having different lives, different courses and track, we even have different people came in our lives, different circle of friends but we're now adults, we became matured and we have different worlds yet we're still friends and the bond will always be there.
We have this meeting place and we set time which is 9 AM. But as usual, I came first and guess what? Of course, they did the 'Filipino Time' again haha, they made it at 10 AM. But I am used to it, they were just like that when we have a group study back then. I'll chat endlessly until they show up. Argh, that was exhausting though but I need to wait for us to finish the requirement in school. I miss that... I miss this...
And so, we rode a jeep to go to our destination. While riding the jeep, the stories and 'chikas' never ended that's just how we miss each other I guess. We came to the mall, we ate first and continued the talk again, talking about our college lives, how hard it is to pass the major subjects, and my other friend is a working student because she wants to have savings which I'm proud of. We bursted our rants in studies, crushes, and our responsibility and then laugh afterwards.
We bought some snacks at the grocery store and make a lot of 'kahihiyan' there.
And then we took some photos at the park of the mall.
And our last location was at the famous 'ukay-ukay' which well, a 'FILIPINO-thing'. Ukay-ukay is pre-loved clothes or used clothes which sells by its low price that's why many people were buying. They have lot of beautiful clothes there and sometimes there are more stylish clothes there rather than the brand new ones. Just wash it properly to disinfect. And always remember that it's the person who makes the clothes beautiful not the other way around.
Our parents we're already calling us by 4PM so we decided to go home. The day was awesome even though the time was so short but we continued our 'kulitan' via DM's and had a video call afterwards and ended with playing mobile games.
At first, I was afraid that our bond will be gone but it did not and I'm so happy to know that. Sometimes, the people you expected who will leave are actually the people who will not forget and will stay with you for the longest time of your life.
