Stand alone tree, England 🏴 I always liked this tree, it was the tallest in a field of not many, but it had big strong roots and must have been so old. I wonder it’s age... I like the contrast with the perfectly blue sky! This was on the last bike ride I had in England, many years ago! The funny thing is, there’s one that looks so similar to this here in NZ! Snow day! England 🏴 (2019) Just before I left England, there was a heavy snowfall for about two days are here are the results :) I grew up in England and it does snow most winters but only a little, this time it really settled! I’m still in lockdown here in NZ and we are coming into spring, which means the snow is melting on the nearby mountains. I hope lockdown will be over in time for some skiing!:) Peace and love!

Mini stream - Wiltshire, England 🏴 I love exploring on my bike, growing up it’s pretty much all I would do! There were lots of cool places to explore on bike around my home town back in England, and new ones to find all the time! A few more cycling stop offs :) New Zealand 🇳🇿 Here was another cool river/stream that I encountered during a ride! It’s so cool to hear some flowing water and then find it. In fact, this happens pretty often here in NZ, there are so many streams and rivers! When I first moved here I was amazed by going on hikes and hearing flowing water everywhere (not every hike! Large trees in Auckland, NZ These trees are in the memorial park in central Auckland, and they’re super unique as they start growing right from the base. I see the sea 🌊 Coromandel, NZ Taken back in summer was this lovely shot over the east coast of NZ. It’s some of my favourite coastal walks and views! Hot water beach, coromandel, NZ This is a very unique spot, and the water itself isn’t hot... however, the beach is over a geothermal area, so if you dig down into the sand you have a pool of hot water form! Your very own natural hot tub!:) it’s very hot too! There’s 2 hot water beaches that I know of here in NZ, the other is on the west coast. Peace and love! Hope you’re all enjoying your weekends :)

Yu Garden - Shanghai (part 1) A wonderful place to explore in the busiest and biggest city I’ve ever visited. Shanghai went from the hyper modern to the traditional all with a short walk. I sure did enjoy my time here, I’m not really a city guy, but it was cool to see and I do like the awesome designs throughout :) it was cool to explore and take it all in! Peace and love :)

Yu Garden - Shanghai (part 2) If you view these two pictures together you’ll see it’s almost a panoramic shot. Not quite, but you’ll see how we could walk over the ponds on a lovely path, looking at the koi fish before stopping by into all of the art galleries:) there was such brilliant and intricate art pieces! Unique jade sculpture and detailed ceiling :) Loved the jade carvings to much throughout China. The intricacies blew me away. I respect skills very much, and this one was just awesome! Also, check out that geometric Celtic carving. It’s so cool! Like a entrance to another galaxy haha! If so, I’d jump on in to check it out :D as long as I could get back of course! Peace and love :)

Funky trees in Guangzhou Thanks to @IamAndy I now know these trees are called “Terminalia Ivorensis”, cool name! Or the black afara. Either way, they’re awesome, and I like how uniform they look! It’s hard to see in these pictures, but they’re so uniform and grow in layers. I’m glad I now know what they’re called! Peace and love :)

Lake Pukaki | the road to Mt Cook 🏔 NZ Yes this lake really is this colour! I would even say more of a light blue when you’re there and the sun is out. It is glacier fed and due to the minerals it turns this milky light blue colour. It is incredible to see, and feels unreal when standing right next to it. Almost as it you could fill up a glass of water and it would be this blue haha... maybe I should try that next time! The lenticular clouds look incredible too! This is when…

Glaciers of Hooker Valley 🏔 New Zealand One of the most stunning day hikes in NZ is the hooker valley track :) pictures are hard to do it justice, but it was incredible! You can see the light grey glacial river here which was so cool and the glaciers on mountain peaks. There was actually lots of waterfalls everywhere here, it is hard to see but under the glacier is loads of them!:) Peace and love to you all!:)

Mt Cook! 3724m Getting further down the track, the first picture is the first view you get up close of the mountain! New Zealand’s tallest mountain:) the valley is spectacular. Hooker Lake :) Mt Cook, New Zealand 🇳🇿 Behold Mt Cook!:) this was as close as I go to the tallest mountain in New Zealand, and this is the end of the hooker valley track. This lake is 2 degrees Celsius! I went and touched it... numbingly cold! Street art in Guangzhou I’m not exactly sure of what this is, if it’s a character or just someone’s artist creation, but I thought it was pretty cool! It was quite rare to see street art in China, from my experience anyway. Especially graffiti style. I think this is cool! :) Peace and love :)

Journey to a sculpture park The lovely scenic walk up to a sculpture park and gardens :) you can the that old school shed, which I assume the owners do their sculpture work in! The big double doors and windows almost make it look like a church to me, or a boat shed. It’s cool either way! Views and plants of the park :) 🌵 The last picture is a prickly pear cactus! I’m not sure of the scientific name, but these grow everywhere in southern Italy, but rare to see them here in New Zealand! You can also see them behind the red flowers in the second picture. Majestic trees of New Zealand 🇳🇿 There are many spectacular trees here in New Zealand, ranging from the enormous kauri tree where locations are not released to the public due to protection, to the tall kahikatea pictured here. These are very young and the tallest ones are up to 60m! Which ever the tree, I always find some kind of attachment to them, anchored to the earth and living for hundreds (thousands?) of years :) Peace and love to you all!:)

Redwoods! 🌲 (click for size) The giants of the forest! A lovely walk today saw a range of brilliant trees, and these are Californian redwoods. I’m not sure when they were planted or how they got here, but they sure all quite the sight! Shedding trees 🌲 Beautiful nature If you look here you can see these beautiful giants are shedding their bark, Revealing a fresh new smooth layer. It almost looks silky! I believe these are Rimu trees but I don’t have full confirmation here yet. San Francisco marina 🌅 This was a nice and quiet spot at night to enjoy watching the sky turn pink and the reflections in the water. It was pretty cool seeing all of these boats too. Golden Gate Bridge at Golden Hour! 🌉 A wonderful view of the famous bridge. Probably the most iconic bridge in the world, it sure is a great sight! The first image is from the marina, just strolling along the beach, and then from a little higher up looking over the bay. The streets in San Francisco are all very steep! Unreal cloud layer! 🌅 As I’ve mentioned, my weekly theme is ‘Californian sunsets’ and some of these were just unreal! Here is a great example of one of the most stunning ones I’ve seen. The viewpoint on the property was absolutely perfect to watch the sunset, and they entire sky was just glowing right here! Red sky at night, shepherds delight Has anyone else heard this saying before? We used to say it quite often in England many years back! It basically means that it will be good weather tomorrow, and it’s often true if you see a red sky for sunset as it means the pressure is moving towards the west causing a dry morning... this isn’t proven or a fact but yea there we go!:) This is another deep red sunset in Northern California! Hazy glow 🌅 Looking over the smallest mountain range in the world (so I was told) I really love how the haze diffuses into the horizon. I went skiing last weekend! 🎿 🏔 It was so great to get back onto the mountain! Mt Ruapehu is actually and active volcano in tongariro national park. It’s amazing! The snow was great and the weather was perfect! At the top! 🎿 🏔 So here is my final skiing photo I will share from last weekend. This was over the far west side of the piste, over looking the pinnacles and you can just about see Mt Ngauruhoe peeking out from the clouds. You can also see the ski lifts and almost down to the base of the mountain, to give an idea of how high up I am :) it wasn’t right to the top of the mountain though! That would be another 300m or so! Mt Ngauruhoe up close!:) 🌋 Many people’s favourite volcano, due to it featuring in lord of the rings as Mt Doom! Also as it’s part of the wonderful tongariro national park here in New Zealand 🇳🇿 it rises to 2,291m and sure is an impressive sight! Sunsethunter in wonderland! 🍄 Here’s a few pictures of the fly agaric mushroom that grows wild here in New Zealand! The scientific name is amanita muscaria, and they’re the Alice in wonderland mushroom! Super cool to see too, and these can grow really big, almost the size of a regular bowl or small plate! It’s great to see as it was only here in NZ I’ve seen them - have you seen these in the wild? They’re not edible unless treated properly. Have a great weekend everyone!…

Rugged coast of Raglan, NZ 🌊 (Click) Raglan is most well known for its famous surfing (left hand breaks) and I can say the waves are great! Here I’ve tried to clip a panoramic shot into these 4 photos - make sure you click for full size as it does look great :) this is the gorge and is huge! It’s a drive on a dirt road up to this spot. Koi carp live in the rivers here! NZ A little bit of a different post but it’s something I’ve wanted to share for a while. Here in the Waikato river, Koi carp live naturally!? To me this is so crazy as I always thought of these as domestic fish that are bred for ponds etc, and that were sold for a lot of money. Well, that’s how it is in England anyway! Tonight’s CRAZY sunset! 🌅 This one was wild! I was cycling home and one side of the sky was looking super yellow, but not like it usually does, and I noticed an enormous cloud ring surrounding the entire city, again something I haven’t seen before! So I had to take a detour to the lake to see what was going on and this is the result! I was stunned and amazed! Absolutely love it!!! :D so happy to have seen this one, it blew me away! Rainbow out of my window :) Last few weeks of me living in this apartment and I feel like the weather and area are giving me a send off with some awesome sunsets and scenes like this one! Sunset, lake, and distant mountains :) Another view from my sunset spot! On the far left you can see Pirongia, a nearby mountain. This is also the lake which I currently live very close to, and as you can see it is a great sunset spot! Going... going... gone! 🌅 A few from the outer night :) the cloud we’re moving quite quickly as you can see the sky starts to open up more and more! Colours change throughout :) talking about the sky opening up, the rain hasn’t stopped today!
