Feminist
At first, I thought that being a feminist or supporting feminism always talks about how women should be equal or have their rights equally provided like men. Since I am a woman myself, I thought that okay, it's good since most of us are being attacked and it seems that all the blaming goes to the victim so we should advocate our rights towards equality. But the case is that I also see how men are being judged when they show their softer side like crying or not being able to fight back when something happens.
In the entertainment industry, I always see feminism. Positively and negatively. There is that boundary between men and women as celebrities or as artists. Singers and songwriters like Taylor Swift who is mostly known for writing songs about her exes is one of the examples of not being equal in the industry. Yes, you may see it and she may have admitted it that she writes songs about men in her past but I quite see people commenting on other artists who also do it. These artists or singers like Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber or Harry Styles, they also write songs about their past girlfriends, yet they are not really in the lime light of having that negative vibe of just being able to write songs because of another person. Little Mix also experienced being attacked, not because of writing songs about their past, but showing their scars to the audience. Anchor, Piers Morgan commented on Little Mix's photo of posing naked with written words on them that were used to judge them like ugly or not being able to sing. He said that they only did it for the money or for people to listen and buy their album. This is one example of how rude someone can be. Ariana Grande quickly defended the girl band by saying that if Morgan did it, it's okay. It was posted with a photo of the anchor without his clothes, only something to cover his private part.
One thing that people need to understand that being a feminist doesn't mean that you are not okay when women dresses up with some of her skin showing or you do not support how girls express themselves, in the right way otherwise. Being a feminist only means that if a girl expresses herself or her thoughts, without offending the equality of people, and just showing support on how life should be lived without judgement, she is someone to be respected. Also with the boys who come across people who are too judgmental when it comes to men who should "be men". Not because a man shows off his mentally unstable self doesn't mean that he can't cry.
People love having opinions. But the thing is that we also need to understand if our opinion is for the sake of speaking the truth or for just speaking.
ALL LIVES MATTER.
Whether you're black, you're part of the LGBTQ+ community, or any religion, your life matter.
It's that simple and basic yet people are having a hard time knowing it.
