Machine learning super intelligence is a great tool for creators, but integrating AI into your own workflow can be a challenge for those who can't code. Today an app called RunwayML is attempting to create an "app store" for artists, designers, filmmakers and others with machine learning apps that are as simple as the apps you download and buy in the app store and can be activated with a few simple clicks, making the process of using machine learning artificial intelligence much easier.
Let's say you're an animator on a budget and need to convert a video of a human actor into a 3DCG version. Traditionally you would definitely need to use expensive motion capture equipment, even if you can't afford one you have to rent one. Now you may have a cheaper and simpler option than the high rent, ML simply applies a neural network called "PosetNet" to your work to create wireframe models of your actors and output them to animation.
Or rather, you need to delete a coffee cup from the episode screen. This rather modern contraption is clearly not suitable to appear in a work of magic. You can either edit it out the traditional way and wipe it out, or you can run a machine learning segmentation model in your work, automatically highlighting different objects in each frame to simplify the workflow.
