TOTGA: The One That Ghost Away
Feb 24, 2021
Are you a ghoster? Or have you ever been ghosted? Well, that's basically a common thing in this twenty-first century era when it comes in the name of love. Talking about love in this modern times, there is really a big difference on how things goes on before and in today's time. Well, thanks to a great influence of technology, our lives has been much easier than the way it is before. Every little things undergoes into a process of innovation and up until now, people continues to innovate and improve the surroundings.
Going back to love, the traditional ways or methods of courtship have gone beyond what we can imagine. The usual face-to-face getting to know each other was replaced by purely virtual slash online connection. It is much easier to connect with the people around us. Basically, it is easy to establish social relationships with the help of social media platforms online. As long as you have an Internet, you can connect all across the globe.
Just like how fast we established our connections online, same as how fast it can also be disconnected. But let's dig deeper into what everyone else called as "ghosting".
What is Ghosting?
Basically, ghosting is not really literally about ghosts or any other horrifying monsters. But somehow, it was similar to that. Ghosting is when a person ghosted the other person that he or she might got committed into. In most cases, ghosting naturally occurs when two people started talking to each other or in the typical "getting-to-know" each other stage and suddenly stop talking to other without any further notice. Specifically, there are commonly two involved in the process—the ghoster and the ghosted. Ghosters are those who usually stop or end the conversation to the other party without saying goodbye—a sudden ended conversation. On the other hand, ghosted are the ones who ended up hanging in the air. When a person suddenly just stop replying to them and never talk to them again, they are usually puzzled, or worst, heartbroken and that's the saddest part of it.
I think people who are ghosters should stop doing that thing. Let's consider everyone's emotions and feelings. Honestly it is not easy to invest time, feelings and efforts to someone that will eventually hurt and will just leave you in the future. Just because you guys met online, it doesn't necessarily mean that it is okay to left people hanging. It's not easy to get hurt and to build yourself again. And for those who are ghosted, I hope you find the love that you truly deserve. Keep on waiting because the right love is worth the wait.
