Buying load on coins.ph has always been a hassle for me, particularly when my coins wallet is empty. I normally transfer Bitcoin Cash to my coins wallet and then wait at least four hours before exchanging it for pesos. After that, I'll be able to buy a load. However, this is inconvenient, particularly if you need the load as soon as possible.
Aside from that, the "exchange" function of coins is a problem because it allows you to sell your coins for a lower price or buy coins for a higher price instantly. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of coins, so I'll have to look for another platform.
I came across this website CoinsBee while searching online for a way to buy load in the Philippines without having to exchange your BCH for fiat. At first glance, the website appears to be ordinary, with nothing remarkable about it. But, as I dug deeper into the website, I realised, "This is exactly what I/we need!"
So, what is CoinsBee?
CoinsBee is a website where you can...
Purchase Amazon, eBay, iTunes, Chris Sports, and other e-commerce vouchers;
Top up game credits for Xbox, PUBG, steam, fortnite, freefire, and other games;
Buy payment cards such as Visa, MasterCard, neosurf, paysafecard, Cherry Credits, cash to code, and so on; and
Buy cell phone credit (also known as "load" in the Philippines) for Smart, TNT, Globe, TM, Cherry Mobile and etc.
with Bitcoin Cash, as well as 49 other cryptocurrencies, are available in 165 countries.
My Experience
I'll make it really really quick! I love CoinsBee, the initiative, its accessibility to Filipinos, its features, and everything else about it. My dilemma has been solved thanks to CoinsBee. And before I go into depth about my experience, let me first tell you how it went for me on my last purchase, April 24.
The first thing I did was go to https://www.coinsbee.com/en/shop and look around for a while before deciding which product to buy. I'm a TNT consumer, so I looked up what TNT loads are available.
There's FB10, GIGAVIDEO50, UTP15, and a slew of other promotions, but when it comes to load promos, coins.ph has the upper hand, but that's irrelevant to me. The fact that I can buy it with BCH is the most important factor.
GIGAVIDEO50 was my choice. After that, I pressed "add to cart" and then "go to shopping cart," after which you'll be asked to enter your phone number's last 10 digits (as shown in the screenshot above) as well as your gmail address (if you want). One feature that I like is that it displays the price of the product you want to buy in Bitcoin Cash.
When you're done, press "proceed to checkout," and you'll be prompted to accept the terms and conditions. Then click "buy now with cryptocurrencies" for you to be taken to a page where you can choose the cryptocurrency you want to use to pay for the product. In my case, I chose Bitcoin Cash because it is the only cryptocurrency available on my wallet and will remain so in the future.
It will then generate a QR code and a pay with wallet option below it. You can simply scan the QR code if you're using laptop or computer, but because I'm using my phone, I clicked "pay with wallet" and it opened my Bitcoin.com wallet. It's automatic, and I was able to pay for my CoinsBee purchase with just one swipe.
I was then returned to the previous page. And it says that before they send me my GIGAVIDEO50 load, I only need to wait for at least one confirmation on the transaction I just made. I knew that one confirmation would take between 5 to 15 minutes. It wouldn't take long at all.
As you can see, this is more preferable than to waiting four hours. It helps me save time. While I was waiting, I went to see what other things I may like to buy in the future. I saw this 7/11 and think I might buy a gift card for it. I might do so because I am not fond of buying food or snacks at 7/11 but depending on my mood. Then I looked into what load promotions I could get with Globe.
During this time, I got a message on my phone and an email stating that my purchase had already been sent. Actually, it's been seven minutes since I made a transaction on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain. It is extremely quick. Although, it would be faster if they accepted zero confirmation transactions, but one is the best option. So I have no complaints on that.
Conclusion
We, the Filipinos, want such platforms. I mean, we've been struggling to find places to spend Bitcoin Cash, whether it's in physical or online shops. I'm not sure about others, but I'd like to spend my Bitcoin Cash without having to convert it to fiat. I'd like to start practicing spending Bitcoin Cash and assisting merchants in attracting BCH spenders.
After all, why not? We want peer-to-peer electronic cash, so I suppose now is the time to start using it, particularly given the current pandemic.
CoinsBee provides us with the opportunity to buy load with Bitcoin Cash. It's really less of a hassle because buying load in CoinsBee is a lot simpler. I'm hoping CoinsBee will be able to add more features in the future, such as payments for Meralco, Maynilad, Shopee Coins, Home Credit Loan, and a lot more.
