Our Church Project
Sorry if I have so many short posts today but I just want to maximize my time since today is weekend. Portion of my earnings here in readcash will be donated for our church. We are planning to buy floor mats because the floor has no tiles yet. We are also planning to finish the ceilings if many people or sponsors will donate. We want to finish our church building before December ends. Worshippers will be comfortable worshipping God then after the accomplishment of this project. The Prone Position
Our baby is now at 4 months and three weeks old when she started to have this proning position. This is the first time to turn her back and body but she cannot turn to her original position afterwards. I just want to share her cute photos while facing the phone camera. Thankful we are that she can now turn back her body and maybe few weeks from now, she will start to crawl then. We are excited to see her growing up like teaching her how to walk couple of months now. We are planning to have her Christening by the last Sunday of December. We are saving now for our baby especially for her milk and diapers. I know God will provide our needs.

Mute Old Student
My grandmother is a retired Elementary Teacher. She was teaching and handling Grade 1 pupils before. She is 83 years old now and still able to do things on her own and with no maintenance of any vitamins or food supplements. I cannot imagine how she managed her students before knowing that there was no Kindergarten before. Teaching Grade 1 pupils is not that easy because students at their level need to know how to read and write. Patience is a virtue indeed because of the students different behaviors and attitudes inside the class.
My grandmother was a best teacher. Many likes her because of her attitude, being generous and on how she disciplined her students before. I just want to share her pictures today with a mute man who was her Grade 1 students before. The mute man lovingly hug my grandma because they did not see each other for how many years. I can see tears flowed from his eyes and my grandma is so happy at the same time. The man cannot utter words because of his condition but as what they said action speaks louder than words. There is something special in this person and maybe that was how my grandma treated him before. Thanks God for giving them this opportunity.

Church Practice
Our church thanksgiving day is fast approaching. It is an annual church celebration wherein we will invite visitors from other places to celebrate with us next week December 05. Church members will contribute cash and foods for our lunch. Yesterday when I attended our weekly prayer meeting, our young people had their practiced for their praise and worship songs to be perform next week. All members also had practiced a vernacular song about thanksgiving. I am thankful that I am part of this family. We have our unfinished church building and though we only have almost 50 members, but we are bonded already and always have our fellowship to encourage and pray for one another.

I just want to share this viral news in social media regarding a boy who complained to his parents because of having long names （credit to the owner of the photos uploaded） His name is Grayven Thomas Valdez, five years of age and wanted to change his first name to BOY because his name Grayven Thomas was too long to write.

My name PHEGIEL was taken from the book of Numbers in the Bible. Phegiel was one of the leaders in Israel specifically in the tribe of Aser. Most bible versions or translations used the name PAGIEL like the NIV or New International Version but there is one version wherein the name written is PHEGIEL and it is the Douay Rheims Bible Version.
When my grandmother gave me this named Phegiel, she also gave biblical meaning to this name. The letter P stands for Praise, H for Him （referring to our God）, E for evermore, G for God, I for is, E for Everlasting and Life for letter L. Again, Phegiel means Praise Him Evermore God Is Everlasting Life. Indeed it is true that God offers everlasting life if we received His Son Jesus Christ to be our Personal Lord and Savior. Thanksgiving Day！
I just want to say belated Happy Thanksgiving Day to our American friends and families here in read cash. I remembered every 4th Thursday of the month of November is their thanksgiving. Parrotfish
We are so thankful our mother earth is rich with natural resources especially water resources. Our country is surrounded with bodies of water and we have thousands of islands wherein we are beneffited like the sea foods that we used to eat.
I never thought these parrotfishes are so helpful in preserving and protecting our water resources. The following pictures below support that these fishes must not be catch and sell by fishermen because they eat algae and dead corrals. My parents actually like to cook this kind of fish but now it changes my mind. They must be preserved and protected.
Jesus Loves Me Hymn
I downloaded a video entitled Jesus Loves me in youtube and I usually play this video everytime my baby is crying or not in the mood. She is at ease and feel secure everytime she listened and watched this video. I like and love the lyrics too. I got a research today if who wrote this song in google.
It was written long years ago by Anna Bartlett Warner in New York. She was born 1827 and the song was a Christian hymn and first appeared as a poem in 1860 American novel. I thought this is a 90s song. But credit to her who wrote this song that even until now it is alive and continue to touch lives. I like the lyrics of the song and it is appropriate for children especially a lullaby for babies. I love the lyrics that say “Jesus Loves Me, Yes I do for the Bible tells me so, Little Ones to Him belong, they are weak but He is strong...” Indeed Jesus loves us for He are. He has loving nature, a compassionate one. He love and cares for everyone whatever status we have in life. Thanks for His great and unconditional love. May you also experience not just today but for the rest of our lives.
Raining while Earning.
After delivering those modules to our students, I decided to go to a pharmacy nearby to buy milk for our baby and nutrifresh milk for my wife for her to have more breastmilk for our baby. After buying those items, rain started to pour out outside. I am using my motorcycle and I did not bring any raincoat because I am not expecting to rain. So here I am sitting in the front plaza of the Municipality of Plaridel. While waiting for the rain to stop, I bought some bread and bottled water so I have something to eat since it is almost 12 noon. I started to write and share my short posts here in read cash. Riverside
We have a river nearby and this was the place wherein we took a bath and fetch waters for our plants and to our Comfort Rooms. This is the river where we washed our dirty clothes too. But now each house in our barrio has its own tap source of water from our Municipality. That’s why only people living near the riverside are the one who take advantage of this water resources.
Waters flowing from the river remind me of Elijah, a prophet named in the Bible who experienced God’s faithfulness found in 1Kings Chapter 17 when they experienced no rain for few years. God commanded Him to go to Jordan River, so he can hide near Cherith Creek. Because of Elijah’s obedience, ravens brought him bread and meat twice a day, and he drank water from the creek for him to survice. Kindly read the succedding verse and you will amaze on how God provided his needs.
Flowing water from the river reminds us that God will always provide our needs according to His glorious riches. The water never stops flowing as God’s blessing is always overflowing. We can also experience stillness of the waters in the river. When we experienced God’s abundant blessings, we can ultimately experience peace as well.
Flowers Everywhere
My mother and my grandma are certified plantita. I just want to share their flowering plants who are so lovely with its color and the flowers are so attractive. It is nice as well to wake up every morning seeing beautiful flowers outside your house. It lightens you when you are not at mood and gives you smile when you are down or sad. These are just simple flowers because these are common but these flowers can be use for decoration for special occasion. Indeed, there is a beauty found in these lovely flowers.
Poor Internet Connection
One of the social problems we have in our place is having a slow and unstable internet connection. We only have one bar to two bars of signal showing in our mobile phones and when the weather is not good, we experienced no signal at all. This is a problem especially residing in rural areas wherein towers of telecommunication companies are not situated nearby. This is one of the reasons why most schools in our district chose to have a modular learning than having an online classes.
To address this problem, some of the houses here in our barangay bought some big tubes and extension wires so that we can placed our modem like like PLDT Home Prepaid Wifi and Globe Wifi on top or in a higher ground. Small wires were attached on each side of the tube so that it can stand well. We placed the wifi in a big mineral water container so that it will not directly affect the modem and wire plug during rainy days or the heat of the sun. This is what normally we do now just to have an internet connection in our barrio. We can now surf the net, post on our social media account and watch youtube videos especially during night time and early morning. Thanks to the initiative of our neighbor who introduced us in this alternative way of having an internet connection.
Old Photos
Taking pictures was not that easy before compared to our mobile phone cameras that we are using now. We used to paid photographers to take pictures during special ocassion or important family affairs like birthdays, weddings, graduation, anniversaries and reunions. But now even if the ocassion is not important or the day is just so normal, by just using our smartphones, we can take pictures anytime and anywhere we want and normally upload those pictures and post in our social media account.
My siblings were now working far from our hometown. We were four siblings in the family and I am the only one who is here in our province with my parents. This is our birthplace and I am blessed to have a permanent work here in our place. As i watched these old photos we had, memories catured in these photos make me sad. Yes, I missed my siblings especially my two sisters when we used to play childhood games before. Life is different now especially four of us now are professionals and working in different places. These old photos were pictures of my two lovely sisters.
Sad as I am today as I see these pictures got distorted and some parts of the photos were started fading. That’s why I take picture of these old photos and trasfer these to my laptop for me to edit and restore the beauty of these photos. It is important to save and print copies of these for us to always remember those old memories we had before especially our childhood days. Old photos when restored brings life to the people captured in the pictures.
Handwashing machine
Today is Saturday and it’s our day off. That’s why this morning, after cleaning our room I washed all our dirty clothes. We have our washing machine which is a wedding gift to us by our co-teachers but I prefer to have a handwash of our clothes. My wife is taking care of our baby and we have not hired any helper or maids. We have our day offs every weekend, so much better to do things on our own and not to depend on others. We have a budget for hired helpers but there are times as I observed from others, when they used to have housemaids, they became too dependent to their maids even in doing simple household chores. They keep on doing orders or making requests to their helpers even if they have free time or they can do it on their own. Their time usually spent on unimportant or not urgent matters like surfing the net, being active on social media platforms like facebook and watching TV shows.
So for today, I washed all these clothes used by me and my wife for 1 week. Since childhood days, my siblings and I were trained by our parents to personally washed our dirty clothes during weekends. It’s better to be independent at an early age so that by the time comes when you will have your own family, you can do things on your own. It took me two hours to finish handwashing these clothes and hang them under the heat of the sun so that this late afternoon these clothes will become dry and ready to be fold and put it on our cabinet. I know usually women do these things but I prefer to do these knowing that I am free and my wife is doing something important. Helping is a virtue we must have as a person. It is like giving, when we help others, some people will help us in return also.
Thumbsucking
Hi everyone. My baby used to suck her thumb, not just her thumb but also some of her little fingers. I know this will give her peace or soothe herself and help her to fall asleep. They said her tooth is about to grow and to ease the gums, thumbsucking is the solution.
I am always thankful that our baby is growing faster. She is a healthy one. My wife had to breastfeed her especially at night at the same time bottled milk when she is at work. My mother is the one who watch our baby when we are at work because we cannot find a good babysitter. It is better to let our baby stay and watch over by our parents than having someone whom we cannot trust or other babysitter who are irresponsible. We are hoping our baby can walk now so we can bring her at work. It is okay to bring her at school because there are no students or face to face classes is still suspended. Besides the school where we worked is just a few blocks away from our house. What I love about our baby is she is so cute especially when she smiles. When we got tired from work, seeing her smiles will surely penetrates and brings us joy too. Thanks to our baby who gives us happiness this time. Thanks God we are blessed to have her.
Simple Celebration
Sorry for the late upload but it is not too late to share our simple celebration. These pictures were taken last Tuesday, November 17, 2020 when we celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary. We only invited our both sides families and some close friends. A day before our anniversary we received already our 13th month pay but instead of having a big or sumptuous dinner, we only prepared foods such as pork stew, shrimps, grilled pork belly, lumpia,fried chicken and sweet and sour fish. For desserts, we simply had spaghetti, cake and buko gulaman salad. What is most important, we celebrated our special day with our families who witnessed our relationship couple of years ago up to present. They are special to us because they are the one who helped, cared for us and they are the source of our inspiration. Family matters most indeed.
I already gave Winnie the Pooh stuff toy to my wife last week as an advance gift for our anniversary. Last Tuesday, I gave her these plastic red roses placed inside a box which I orded online and I surprised her a personalized mug wherein our pictures are there including our baby. These were just simple gifts but I knew she liked and loved those gifts especially her favorite stuff toy when she was a teenager. Simple as it is but this will bring happiness and creates memories that will always be remembered for a lifetime. Praying for more years of being together as husband and wife. Praying that God will continue to shower His blessings especially with our work, to our kids, our families and other desires that we have.
While Waiting
While waiting for my wife to finish her transaction and get out from the bank, it is now time to make short post again. I am sitting right now in one of the chairs here in Oroquieta City Park. While waiting I captured these photos that catch my attention. I asked myself then, will there be Christmas season？Are we all ready and excited to celebrate Christmas with our loved ones？
Few men are making Christmas decorations and lanterns like a star-shaped “parol” which are Christmas symbols here in our country. They are preparing these for their Christmas lights opening maybe next month. Christmas lights and lanterns will soon be displayed and bring beauty in this place. Even if 2020 is not a good year for everyone especially when Covid 19 pandemic started plus the negative effects of typhoon Ulysses, I am sure everyone is not so excited to celebrate Christmas this time considering many Filipino loss their jobs, their houses were destroyed and some lives were ended. I hope there are still countless reasons why Christmas must be celebrated. Thanks God we are still alive and capable to do our daily tasks. Always be thankful even in simple things because those simple and happy moments will create memories for a lifetime. Christmas is just around the corner - your families and friends who are always there to support and love you. I know this Christmas will be different because of the new normal but let us continue to spread love and remember Christ birth. Let us continue to share blessings to others. FAITH
Good morning everyone. As I opened my bible app early this morning, the topic was all about Faith. According to the introductory question, faith is personal but what does faith look like？ The bible verse for today is from Romans 10：17 that says “So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message of Christ.”
Yes, faith is hard to define because we cannot see nor touch it. Faith tests our trust to someone especially when we put our trust to our Lord Jesus Christ. We cannot see Him but for us Christians, we know that He is alive. We can feel His presence at all times. We must have faith especially these changing times wherein climate, social, tecnological and political changes are happening everywhere. Faith means trusting the unseen in our heavenly Father. It gives us confidence then and courage to do things in order and make things to happen.

Too many walls but not enough bridges
I just want to share this answer from my student on her interpretation about Joseph Fort Newton quotation that says “Men build too many walls and not enought bridges.” I asked permission from her and it is okay. I just want to share it because I was inspired by her answer.
This is her interpretation：“the quotation has a wide array of meaning and it only depends on how a person interpret his own idea about it. My idea is in oir life we may build walls to protect ourselves with other people. You have a fixed and stable mind that walls would be there to protect you from any harm not realizing that you also need a bridge. A bridge would serve as an avenue for you to make a connection. Connection that could widen your horizon, impart knowledge and bring change. A person should realize the importance of connecting with other people. No man is an island. We can make walls but we also need bridges as well. This quote also explains that people build their pride and increase their status but do not give much effort on how to recognize others and connect with them. Build too many walls means selfishness/pride and bridges means acceptance of others opinions.”
Modules Checking
Part of our weekly task is to check retrieved modules. Every Monday the parents of our students will return the modules with the answer sheets of our students at the same time they will get the modules scheduled for the week. Then those papers need to stand by for 2 days as part of our protocol against covid 19. Then on Wednesday we will start to retrieve, segregate their answered papers and give those to the assigned subject teachers. So, I started to check their answer sheets yesterday and still there were few students who forgot to write their names. I am not a fortune teller to guess their names. Anyway every section of our students have their group chats and I will just send picture of those papers with no names for them to identify.
Some answered diligently all activities in the module while there were some who just copied the pretest and post test answers from the answer key page on their modules. Pre test and post test answers were included in the modules in order that our students can identify and evaluate if their answers are correct or not. But sad to say there are some students who will immediately look on the answer key page without reading and comprehending the module first. I know it is one of the disadvantages in the modular learning. Anyway we hope and pray that vaccine will be used effectively then so that we can have our face to face classes next year.
Module checking is sometimes boring because there is no interaction happenning. I am the only person inside the room and checking their papers while listening to a song. The hardest part of checking also is their penmanship, because their are answers that are hard to understand because of their writings. Anyway as a teacher, patience is a virtue. Let us learn to wait so that everything will soon be normal. Let us trust God for everything that everything will come to an end especially this pandemic so we can go back to our normal way of living.
