We now live in a very complex society. Teen pregnancies, violence and suicides are increasing. Our society has lost touch with what children need to mold character and competence. It is sad to say that nowadays people don’t give much importance to discipline. People go their own giving in to their selfish desires that often result to disappointment even to crime and violence.
Today’s youth need loving training that corrects the heart and mind. Different persons need different kinds of discipline. When motivated by love, discipline often can be conveyed by reasoning. Teaching children a sense of order and respect is one great challenge for parents today.
It is said that education starts at home. And probably the first lesson we learned from our parents was all about discipline. They thought us how to behave properly and to have good manners. The result of this training taught us how to pray, respect others and maintain proper hygiene. Discipline is one of the most important traits an individual should have. It must be kept in our hearts and practiced daily. I believe each one of us can contribute by making our society peaceful and orderly by training ourselves. There’s no harm in trying and we can all reap the fruits of better, peaceful and progressive society.
One will become a good person if he/she is a well disciplined one no matter whats the level of his status.
