Modules

I am sitting in my table now inside my classroom and starting to print our module for my Grade 12 students. As announced and approved by our National President, there will be no face to face classes this school year 2020 unless vaccine is now used and proven effective to cure Covid 19 patients. As for now, teachers need to print modules for the students.

Most of our students came from a poor family. Some have low cost cellphones and they are not using the smarthphones which are recommended now in online learning. Another problemis, we are strategically located in a rural area wherein we do not have a strong and stable wifi connection. Instead of having an online teaching and learning process, modular study is the best option in this place. That’s why we will do our best to have a concise, precise and easy to understand modules so that our students will comprehend it as well. Parents have a big role as well as their siblings or guardians in helping our students in their modular learning.

Learning will continue this year despite of the pandemic that is happening all around the world. Some will used radio and television learning aside from modular and online teaching. Yes it is true, learning won’t stop in the four corners of our classroom. They can learn everywhere they are located even in simplier ways as long as they are also willing to learn. I hope our printed modules will help our remote students this time. Even if we cannot teach and guide them daily, I believe they can make it on their own. Sometimes we need to become independent so that learning will actually happen and for them not to easily forget on what they learn. There are pros and cons for this modular learning but what is important is we embraced this changes, find ways and means so that learning will continue to happen and this school year 2020-2021 won’t be a waste of time for our students.
