Asia is a highly populated continent, known for its many cultures, religions and customs, but it is also rich in natural wonders.

These wonders represent not only resorts, but also significant religious monuments of Asian culture.

Goki Lakes, Nepal

They are located at the top of Gokio Ri. These 19 lakes are a major tourist attraction. They get their water from the Ngozumpa Glacier. They are considered to be the highest freshwater system located at about five thousand kilometers above sea level.

To the inhabitants of the surrounding village, these lakes represent a large part of the religious culture.

During the Janai Purima Festival, about 500 Hindus bathe in these lakes. It is a holy bath, which takes place in August. Also, it is believed that animals should not be killed near the lake, so the fauna, which surrounds the lakes, is protected.

Chocolate Hills, Philippines

The chocolate hills are overgrown with grass that dries and darkens during the dry period.

They consist of about 1,200 large hills, but there are also smaller hills that surround them. Located in the Philippines, they are part of the province of Bohol. They are a great attraction, and their entry on the UNESCO World Heritage List has also been suggested.

The assumption of geologists is that the hills were formed by the erosion of karst rocks, but the inhabitants of the local village believe that the Chocolate Hills were formed by the fight of two giants.

Kelimutu Mountain, Indonesia

This volcanic mountain is located on the island of Flores.

The volcano has been extinguished, and its craters are filled with three lakes. Due to the action of minerals, these lakes change color and are never the same shades. These unusual lakes have long been considered a sacred place and the final abode of souls.

The two connected lakes, "Enchanted Lake" and "Lake of Boys and Girls" are often approximately green and red, and the third lake - "Lake of Old People" is blue.

Zhangye Danxi Plateau, China

It was formed by the action of tectonic movements, which are also associated with the formation of the Himalayas.

Weather conditions sculpted various shapes, towers and pillars. What characterizes this plateau are the different colors, patterns and sizes. In 2010, UNESCO recognized the six plateaus as China's Danxia.

Zhangye Danxi Plateau is the largest and covers more than 3,200 square meters.

Son Dong Cave (Vietnam)

Hang Son Dong is a cave located in one of the national parks of Vietnam. It is the largest cave in the world that can accommodate a Boeing 747, as well as a suburb of 800 square meters, with buildings of 40 floors. There is a small jungle in the cave.

It was discovered by scientists, but the surrounding residents regularly heard whistling from the underground river. The underground river also formed this cave.

Tak Ban Giok Waterfalls, the border of Vietnam and China

They are located on the border in Asia, between Vietnam and China. Their fall is 30 meters, and is divided into three parts by stones and trees. The thunderous sound of falling water is heard from a distance.

Below these waterfalls are old karst fields, and the area is inhabited by some endemic species.

Swimming is forbidden, but you can enjoy small bamboo rafts on the edge of the waterfall. Several songs have been written about these waterfalls, many films have been made on them, and the number of art paintings and drawings is huge.

Jigoku Valley, Japan

Jigoku Valley means the valley of hell. It is located in Japan, on the island of Hokkaido.

It is characterized by small openings in the frozen ground from which boiling water and bubbles come out. Also, during the winter, the inhabitants of this valley were snow monkeys, better known as Japanese Macaques. Today, park maintenance workers feed the monkeys all year round.

Most often, tourists visit the Jigoku Valley in the summer, given that it is covered with snow for four months a year.

I am from Nepal and it is pleasure to see You lake at the begining of the article. While saying this I don't mean others are not comparable. Every natural landscape have their own characteristics they carry their own beauty with them. And are not comparable with one another.
