Women have always been considered the fairer sex, less aggressive than men and more attached to family, especially children.
However, the horrific crimes of these women prove that ladies can also be cruel sadists towards their loved ones.
We present to you the six worst women serial killers in history.
Alin Vurnos
Alin Vournos is an American prostitute who killed seven men between 1989 and 1990. She claimed in court that all her victims had previously raped or attempted to rape her, and that she had committed the murders in self-defense.
She killed all the men by shooting them at close range. She was sentenced to death by injection and executed on October 9, 2002. In the case of Alin Vurnos, the film "Monster" (2003) was made, in which she is played by Charlize Theron.
Jane Topan
This American, known by the nickname Jolie Jane, admitted as many as 31 murders after her arrest in 1901. She is known for her extremely morbid statement that her ambition was to "kill more people - helpless people - than anyone has ever killed."
She worked as a nurse who used patients without their consent in experiments with morphine and atropine. She later admitted that she was sexually aroused to be with patients who were on the verge of death. When she was released from the hospital, she started poisoning one by one, so she killed her landlords and adopted sister. The court declared her insane and placed her in a psychiatric institution where she died at the age of 81.
Nani Dos
Nani Dos is an American who was responsible for the deaths of 11 people between 1920 and 1954. She was known by the nicknames Kikotava Baka, Dama Plava Brada and Killer of the Lonely Heart.
Nani killed as many as four of her husbands, her mother, sister, granddaughter and mother-in-law. She was convicted of killing only one of her husbands. She pleaded guilty on May 17, 1955, and was sentenced to life in prison because the state did not want to sentence a female woman to death.
Bela Gunes
An American of Norwegian origin killed her two daughters Myrtle and Lucy, as well as both husbands and all their children. Her motive was incredibly cruel - she was killing to get money from life insurance!
She was not held accountable for her crimes because she set herself on fire in the house where she lived and in which the police found evidence of the murder of 33 people. It is suspected that she killed as many as 40 people.
Myra Hindley
This Englishwoman is known for her participation in the infamous Moors murders.
In 1966, together with her then-lover Ian Brady, she killed five victims, all of whom were children or minors. They were sentenced to life in prison. Despite expressing remorse for the crime, Myra remained one of Britain's most hated prisoners and all the interior ministers rejected her requests for early release. In 2002, she died of a heart attack.
Many books and films have been written about her. On the other hand, her hatred in the UK was so great that today it is hard to find a single child whose parents would name her Myra!
Erzebet Batori
The famous Hungarian countess is probably the most famous woman serial killer in history. She is accused of brutally torturing and killing 300 to as many as 2,000 girls, depending on the source.
It is not known when Erzebet started killing girls, but it is believed that it was between 1585 and 1610. It is also believed that her husband and relatives knew about the murders, but that no one wanted to intervene. As one of Erzebeta Batori's motives, it is stated that she wanted to preserve her beauty through blood.
The legend of the Countess
According to the legend, after the maid from the castle annoyed her with poor quality service, Eržebet drove scissors into her head. The girl's blood fell on Erzebet's hands. When Erzebet washed that blood, it seemed to her that where there was blood the skin became younger. Then she devised a plan on how to regain her youthful beauty. She thought that if she bathed in the blood of beautiful, young girls or even drank their blood, she could become more beautiful than ever. Erzebet invited young, mostly innocent, girls to her castle, cruelly tortured them, drank their blood, and then killed them.
Erzebet was discovered in 1610, when she threw 4 massacred victims from the castle walls. The news soon reached Emperor Matthias and he ordered Erzebet's cousin Turzo to arrest her. He caught her in the act. Erzebet's accomplices were executed, while this could not be done with her because she was of noble origin. However, a loophole in the law was found and Erzebet was walled up in his castle. She was found dead in 1614.
What cruelty of this countess, God forbid, throw a stone, be precise.
