Keeping a Healthy Brain
As I was doing some exercise a while ago in the morning, I heard something on the radio about some ways to keep our brain healthy. While continuing my exercise, I am also actively listening to the radio announcer and put in mind some of the ways that were mentioned.
It's given for a fact that the brain is the body's most critical organ. The mind, emotions, personality, and awareness all reside in the brain. The heart is just one of the many organs in the body that it keeps in check and in sync with.
We need to use all of our senses as it aids in strengthening our brains. Aside from that, we need to engage in a variety of activities and exercises that engage all of our senses, as this promotes good health on all fronts - mental, physical, and even spiritual. These factors all have an effect on the functioning and efficiency of our brain.
So aside from having regular exercise, another way that I have taken note is to have quality sleep. After doing some research, I've come to the conclusion that sleep is crucial for soothing the body, and that it should never be compromised. Numerous brain processes, such as neuronal transmission, rely on sound sleep. Sleep, according to new research, serves as a kind of cleaning service, removing toxins from our brain that develop while we are awake.
It is essential to know that sleeping for at least seven to nine hours a night is vital to maintaining a healthy brain. Refreshing your brain and allowing it the time to heal is by far the most crucial thing we can do for ourselves.
Eating a well-balanced diet is also as important as the other factors mentioned. As we know, our brain's functioning is influenced by the amount of energy we get from the foods we consume. The brain needs fatty acids, vitamins, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, all of which may be found in healthy diets.
As much as possible, avoid eating junk food as these foods aren't healthy for us. Instead, eat leafy vegetables fruits and also intake vitamins to keep our brain healthy and keep its function efficiently.
We should also avoid too much stress because of the things or effects that are bad for us. When we are under a lot of stress, the following happens in our brains. For the first thing, we will have increased energy and clarity of thought. However, our brain starts to slow down after we have hit the limit of our endurance for stress. Things cross our minds, and we tend to lose things. As a result, we are not able to focus and we respond to temptations like overeating, and sometimes, others indulge in drinking, and/or smoking.
As we age, our brain gets old too. This is because the human brain experiences degeneration as we get old. But fortunately, there are some healthy factors we could actually, like what are mentioned above, to at least aid our brains to keep it healthy.
Let's do these things, and together, let's maintain a healthy brain as we age. Thank you for reading.
Indeed, we should have to take care of our brain, Indulging to exercise and healthy diet are a means of taking care of our brain.
