Covid19 Couple Experience

May 28, 2021 to June 10, 2021 have been the laziest days to me and to hubby. Our longest vacation together and we only have each other, 24/7 for 2 weeks.

On the morning of May 28, 2021 hubby tested positive of the antigen test. He informed me immediately and we went to our city's Covid19 testing center. There I also tested positive of the antigen test. We both took the rt-pcr test to confirm if we really have the virus. But the test results won't be ready until after 3 days.

We are advised to go home first and wait for 3 days for the result of the rt-pcr test. Did we risk going home? No.

Since we have an isolation facility in our area, we decided to be isolated immediately and not wait for 3 days for the results to be ready. We won't risk going home because if we are positive of the virus, we might infect our kids and relatives too since we live in one compound, specially bunsuan since she sleep with us in the bed.

This was my very first photo from the isolation facility. The afternoon of May 28, 2021. We arrived at around 1 pm. We still haven't eaten lunch then. We were waiting for my sisters in law to bring our things at the isolation facility.

What we asked to be brought to us?

  • electric fan

  • electric kettle

  • 2 pillows

  • clothes for a week

  • 10 pieces clothes hanger

  • wash basin

  • dipper

  • detergent powder

  • personal hygiene kits (deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, bathing soap, shampoo, conditioner, tissue, alcohol, cotton, and cotton buds)

  • hubby's mini Bluetooth speaker

  • 2 pairs of slippers

  • water container

  • jumping

  • foods (bananas, apples, oranges, biscuits, milo, coffee, some junkfoods)

They arrived at around 3 pm.

What we did in the following days and what actually made us through the 14 days of being isolated from the common life?

Our city chose a public school to be the isolation facility of Covid19 positive patients that are asymptomatic. There are a number of cats in the facility maybe from nearby houses. Most cats are very friendly specially when it was meal time. my most favorite was the pregnant black cat who looks very patient and very tamed. There was a bird with long tails, not a house bird, that always play with the cat whenever it pass by the tree that the bird was nesting in.

But watching the cats play and pass by all day bored me easily.

Usually hubby will check on our motorcycles and usually too will wash them. We went to the isolation in different service motorcycle because we have no idea at all we have the virus already.

In the first few nights we leave our motorcycles outside the room we were using. Until one morning we saw a surprise! Cute little paw prints in the motorcycle's seat.

Since then, hubby put the motorcycles inside the room since we don't let the cats get inside the room that we were using.

Our isolation experience was pure husband and wife bonding. In the mornings, we take our coffee outside while catching the heat of the morning sun. By the afternoon, we were in bed napping, or listening to music through the Bluetooth speaker, or him doing push ups and me at the jumping rope. It was never hard for us to get through the day with only each other. We had a lot of many sweet memories in the facility. We enjoyed our vacation very much!

We did not really worry about our food while we stay in the facility. In our stay in the facility we had free breakfast, lunch and dinner. They always cook very tasty and healthy dishes. They deliver our meals to us on time. Here are some of the meals that we had back then.

We don't really feel homesick because we were always on video call with our family everyday. The only sad part was when there were times bunsuan got tired of the video call. There were also days she was not in the mood to get the video call with us. So my sisters in law that took care of her while we were still isolated keep on sending us photos with bunsuan and always updating us what bunsuan was doing, or eating.

My sisters in law also made an effort to clean and disinfect our home specially our room. They even changed our bed sheet and pillow cases and washed the used ones.

When we were only a few days left in the isolation facility before going home, our city IATF went to our home to deliver the covid19 patient's government assistance.

But because of this event in our home, our neighbors (who always loved gossiping about other people's lives) spread that there were covid19 positive patients that were staying at our home. Their only basis was because an assistance was delivered at our home. They even assumed that the patient was my father in law. That's also one of the reason why hubby and I did not risk going home even if we had not known the result yet if we were really positive or not. Because if we waited for the result at home, if we turned out positive we will be picked up by the city ambulance that will carry us to the isolation facility. That was going to be one great chance for our neighbor gossipers to spread one big scandalous rumor big time!

My sisters in law told us in messenger that our neighbors don't want to pass by in front of our home. If they see some people passing, they see them putting on masks or covering their mouths and nose with their clothes.

They also said that the noisy children who always played loudly in front our home also stopped for a few days.

They keep on spreading rumors that all our household had the virus. They did not even know that hubby and I were asymptomatic when we went to the facility. They also did not even had any idea that we were already about to go home. They discriminated my in laws because of this. But we don't really mind them. We don't really bond with our neighbors even before because we don't really liked their attitude and manners. We won't really bond with them at all after this covid19 isolation incident.

I even told hubby that when we got home I will parade in front of them and look them all straight in the eyes. But of course, I did not do that. I am not raised by my parents to be mean to other people. My mother always tell me to always let things be and be nice to other people. I may let things be but I am not always nice to people I don't like.

We went home on the morning of June 11, 2021 exactly 6 in the morning. My sister in law and his husband picked our things from the isolation facility. Hubby and I rode with our motorcycles. 14 days of not being in the road made me feel different and free.

What we did first after going home from the isolation facility?

June 10, 2021 was hubby's 32nd and his brother's 30th birthday but because we were still in the isolation facility, they celebrated their birthday on the following day, June 11th.

While we were still in the isolation I asked my sisters in law to buy me ingredients for making a mango graham cake. That will be my special gift for hubby aside from all the foods that we will prepare for the birthday celebration.

The birthday celebration was a blast! We missed being with our family and relatives. We missed the celebrations and the bonding with them.

In the trying times of this pandemic, we realized that our family and relatives will always be there for us no matter what. Hubby and I also realized that we may have concern and devotion for our company but not all companies have concern and devotion to their employees.

So if ever you thought that you have super strong immune system just because you haven't been sick for a very very long time, think again. Covid19 was an invisible enemy. No matter how careful we were, we will still have no assurance versus the virus. Hubby already wore a double face mask before this isolation experience happened. While in the isolation facility, he told me that maybe I got the virus because of him because one night he woke up because of a cough that was more like a sneeze and that we were facing each other.

We experienced loss of sense of taste and sense of smell only 3 days after being in the isolation facility. My loss of sense of taste and smell only lasted for 3 days, while hubby's lasted for about a week.

One of the best assistance that helped us get through this isolation period was through Noise.cash. The whole month of May was a blast for BCH and I was very very thankful and grateful because of this run. We were able to pay for a month's due for the following bills :

  • my motorcycle's monthly installment

  • electricity bill

  • water bill

  • 15 days worth of food and allowance for hubby and I when we returned to work

  • 15 days worth of groceries and supplies replenishment for bunsuan

Until to date, Noise.cash still never fail to be a worthwhile experience for me. I look forward to this experience through Read.cash.

Safe day always to everyone and God bless. ☺
