Unfortunately politicians on the left have hijacked it to push thru terrible authoritarian laws and push in socialism.
More than just legislation ---- they are selling concepts very prominently explored in the movie. ---- The worst of it may be the 'Report your neighbor' meme, ---- which is a recipe for a civil war
